Not enough crossbows

Post » Sun Aug 17, 2014 10:50 am

I'm meaning they didn't have a large selection of Crossbows as far as smithing and having a wider ranger of options.

It would have been nice to have been able to choose between an Ebony Crossbow and a Daedric one. Instead we're stuck with a Steel or Dwarven design. Still, with a max smithing skill with all perks fortified by enchanting and alchemy. The bow intself in general still out ranks the cross bow in so many ways.

Maybe in future games. I would like to see a wider selection in cross bows.

I'm glad there isn't a lot of crossbows.
I'd be happy with just the steel crossbow.

I would have liked for them to add a wooden crossbow, but that's all.

On PC there are several mods that add additional crossbows and bolts.

And you can enchant them to add diversity.

A regular crossbow has the same base damage as a Daedric bow...imagine how powerful a Daedric crossbow would be! You could one shot sneak kill Karstaag XD

No...imagine one made of Dragonbone! We could unite Tamriel under the 4th Empire with a weapon with such might!

Yeah, I wish there were a bigger variety of Crossbows :( I also wish they allowed you to reload when you wanted too, and not that auto reload bs which leaves you open to attack (yes, I know there are mods that fix both :P)

I don't care for every type of weapon being available in every material. It makes it feel like the weapons were developed for the player at his particular level at the time rather than by a culture with its own technological merits and for its own purpose. Besides, why would a crossbow made out of ebony be more lethal than a steel one?

What? You're supposed to time your shots! That's the whole point!

Because smart people auto reload right after they have fired every shot, leaving them standing there/slowed down and open to attack... instead of running for cover, gaining distance, then reloading and aiming to fire the next shot...

Instead of more crossbows, I would be okay with just the Steel one, I would much rather a wider variety of bolts. I don't really care for the exploding ones, or elemental ones, I would much rather just the regular set of arrow variety - iron, steel, dwarven, orcish, elven, glass, ect.

What difference would the crossbow material make? Would a solid gold crossbow in real life make it any more powerful a weapon?

Can someone explain to me why ebony sword is better than a steel sword? Is it sharper or just overall better made?

I'm not saying it shouldn't be, just asking if it has an explanation.

I don't care if it did the same damage, ebony crossbow would look cooler than a steel one. Goes better with my ebony armor.

No, it wouldn't. But this is not real life. It's a fantasy world in which different materials do different damages.

Do you even understand how Smithing, Enchanting, and Alchemy work together combined when forging weapons and improving them?

I would actually be fine with just the steel crossbow and make it and bolts craftable (without mods). I can make arrows out of dragonbone but I can't make a silly little steel bolt?

Rather than just different levels of Crossbows via Smithing, I'd like something a little more special. Maybe repeating Crossbows that shoot 3 Bolts at a time? Or maybe specialized bolts that do different things. Like.. I don't know, for topics sake, you shoot a ball that hovers in the air, starts spinning & shooting bolts in random directions before dissolving in a mini explosion. That'd be awesome.

We just need a Steel and a Huntsmans Crossbow, the Huntsmans is inferior to the Dawngaurd Crossbow. Morrowind did Crossbows properly.

Ebony weapons do more damage than steel because ebony is the blood of a dead god, while steel is just iron and corundum.

There was a very basic Weapon Set that included a Crossbow that only apeared in Solsthiem, and was added by the Bloodmoon Expansion :D
