Not Enough

Thats the point of Fallout games, Not all of them must be BANGBANGBANG quest

Agreed that not every quest has to be or should a "BANGBANGBANG" Quest. But the observation(instead of complaint) we are all making is that walking through the wastes without the random incursions and skirmishes that we all loved in FO3 and previous FO's makes the game a little boring and it feels empty without more human targets to kill. There aren't even that many deathclaws and random beasts out there to kill either. Whereas in FO3, not only were there many raiders, enclave, talon company, outcasts, and the other cats who wore the Dusters to fight and who would attack you depending on your alignment. It seems all of that stuff has been forsaken in FONV. More skirmishes while out walking around would make the game more fun.

I can go from location to location almost regardless of the distance and run into very minimal challenge from any of the above mentioned threat of attack, almost ridiculous...

I agree, there just aren't enough combat opportunities. In FO3, I never fast-travelled because most journeys offered something interesting, even if I had been through the area before. I'm getting really bored of walking around in NV. I've had almost no combat in my last 10 hours of gameplay. I've done lots of quests, but most of them seem to be 'go here, talk to this guy, go there, talk to that guy'.

Not all quests need to be BANGBANGBANG, but a little combat interspersed between all the talking quests would go a long way to keep things exciting.

I think I'm going to go fetch Boone and clear out Cottonwood Cove and the Fort. I'm itching to use my guns.

Combat Opportunities, correct, that is the term I have been meaning to say all this time but could not find it. That is absolutely right. I wish there were more combat opportunities which is why I am going to play through again a heavily modded version of FO3...

I dunno if I would want a lot more stuff blasting away at me. I kind of like having the map cleared as I go through it, it feels more real. As I venture into an area for the first time, I have things to deal with. However, once I have established my mastery over the area, the area should be somewhat clear. If there are too many enemies to deal with then it becomes like Final Fantasy. Take a few steps, have a battle, take some more steps have a battle. That would get old fast.

However, it would be interesting to have some random encounters that have some more substance to them, lkke a pitched battle between two groups, where I could join in or wait and mop up. Meet up with a random character for various reasons or results. There is some of this in the game, but it could happen a bit more.

Yep. I try not to, but I usually end up fast traveling because #1 it will be boring to walk where ever I have go and #2 I'll try to go over a mountain and hit an invisible wall. Very frustrating. Everything is partitioned out it seems. You know in one area you will run into Deathclaws, in another it will be Fire Geckos, in another it will be Giant Mantis, in another giant ants, etc. The map is too organized and predictable. I am never surprised. I have absolutely no interest in the Strip and gambling. It's kind of a crap location if you ask me. There is just not much in the Mojave.

Honestly, if it wasn't for the companions and their quests I would have gotten bored the New Vegas pretty quick.

I checked the stats on my Pip boy

I'm level 21 New Vegas, and killed 262 things.

I'm level 19 in Fallout 3, so far killed 365 things.

Too many boring stretches in New Vegas. Too much talking and 'speech' quests for my taste.

This! Speech quests. Way too many. And a lot of times you have to fast travel because trying to get anywhere in a straight line is impossible because of all the wall. Plus it's boring.

I though a "wasteland" and "desert" means less populated?

I do however think there should be another major Raider camp.

Which is why the location is such a poor choice. I want a game, not a walk through no-man's-land. What fun is that?
