Not Experiencing Random Dragon Encounters

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 1:55 pm

In the last ten hours of gameplay (real time), I haven't experienced ANY random dragon encounters. The last one I experienced was in the courtyard of the College of Winterhold over twelve hours ago (real time).

I haven't gotten very far in the main quest (only made it to the Greybeards) and I've only found a few dragon walls. Is my game glitched? Do I need to progress in the main quest more? Is anyone else experiencing this?

I'd REALLY appreciate any and all feedback.

RANDOM encounters

RANDOM....

random...

Don't worry about it, keep playing. If you wanna kill a dragon, go find a roost.

This.

Also, fast-travel as little as possible.

Here's the thing.

When I first started playing, dragons would show up ALL THE TIME at random whenever I was out wandering or even when I was in a town.

Now, there's NONE to be found that aren't at roosts in my game. And I wander A LOT.

They are completely random. They come up anywhere (mostly you'll run into them near their grave). But I come across them just wandering around for 7-10 minutes. Also, you need to be in to the main story line a little bit or further to come across them often.

Really, the same thing happened to me.

Maybe it depends how many souls you have on you. For awhile in my main game, they wouldn't leave me alone, I literally had 15 souls in waiting.

Its still just random.

My two other characters I'm playing, they are much more rare to start. The fact you had them all the time and then none at all is just how "random" works in video games.

Goto Winterhold they seemed to come at an unnaturally fast rate there. I think the spawn rate is based on level and story line progression.

They will also still spawn after fast travel so you could try fast travelling around a lot. But it seems like the game uses a static seed for the random generator as reloading does not affect it.

Just wait 'til you find out you can have two Ancient Dragons show up on the scene.

You're gonna be running.
