I'm not getting the Lover's Comfort perk when....

Post » Sun Jun 03, 2012 10:31 pm

When I sleep in my bed in Breezehome.

Camilla is my wife.

Is Breezehome glitched?

Worked on my other character who lives with Muiri in Markarth.

Are you a werewolf? Werewolves don't get it.

Is Breeze home your "official" home with your wife? Perhaps you don't get it if you own multiple homes and sleep in an alternate.

Any of you have the Lover's Stone active? I tried to maximize my skill gains by getting as many boosts as I can, but you can't get Lover's Comfort if you have the Lover's Stone active.

Try asking her to move to her house, then once she's there ask her to move back in. It worked for me.

This also worked for my character and his wife Senna. You needed to live at her place for at least 24 hours, and then move to your chosen home. Was only well rested, until I did this and now she provides loving comfort in the Markarth home.

I am also not getting the Lover's Comfort in Proudspire with Sylgja. I was considering trying this temporary move as Proudspire is the only place she's lived with me.

Additionally, do you need to sleep when your wife is physically in the bed next to you, or simply sleep in the bed owned by you in the house where your wife lives, regardless of when she is sleeping?

I don't get any comfort from sleeping with Muiri in Markarth (my only house) either. I guess I will try the switching houses thing. I think she was sleeping at the Hag's Cure before we tied the knot.

As others have pointed out, you have to visit your spouse's home first. There's a prompt for it. So move in with Camilla, and when you step inside, the quest will update. Now tell her you wish to move to Breezehome, there being room now that Lydia's put a dent in the stockpile of sweet-rolls. That's all there is to it.

I get lover's comfort in ANY bed as long as my wife is in the building. Makes having a follower-wife a big plus.

So I got this to work... sort of.

Indeed, as soon as I asked Sylgja to move to her place, I got a quest update thud and a "meet her at her house" message at the top of the screen. A Miscellaneous quest was added to meet her at her house, but activating it does not bring up a quest marker.
I fast travelled from Solitude to Shor's Stone, made it before her but the door was locked. Picking the lock then waiting for her got her in the house, and a quick nap revealed Lover's Confort, but the quest didn't complete and was stuck in the menu.

I'd like to avoid that, so I reloaded. Fast travelled, fast-waited 1 hour outside for her at her place and she showed up. She walks into her house, but again the door is locked behind her.

Did you guys get keys to your wive's houses? I might try console dropping one if needbe. I presume not entering the house legitimately could be the issue?

Edit: So I spawned they key, same deal. Lover's comfort, but no quest finishing. So I decided to roll with it and told babycakes to move back to ol' Proudspire with me. Escorted her down the road a ways as it was dark and rainy and I'm a gentleman and the quest randomly completed just walking away...lol. All is well now! :bunny:
