Not Impressed

Okay, so I LOVED fallout 3, I thought the story line was creative, and just great in almost everyway! (although I do admit it got very annoying and some parts). Then there came fallout NV. The first time playing new Vegas through, I did not like it. I sided with the legion, and found the question line very unsatisfying, most likey because you cant contniue on with the game once you've completed it... After I beat it once, I went and sided with the NCR, now to give the game credit, I judged it poorly the first time, for there is SO much more to do when you do side with the NCR. I'll admit this game is very addicting and its about the only game I've been playing since it's release. One thing that I DID NOT like about this game, is if you side with the NCR/Legion, it has almost nothing to do with the beginning of the game. The Platimun chip was a smart idea, if you just had to choose between Mr. House or Yes Man/The Chairmen. But couldn't it have been something more relevant, like... The Nuclear codes although that would be a lot like Fallout 3 . I found it really cool, how the NCR and Caesar's Legion weren't just made up for this game, but were in Fallout 1 + 2. Overall, I didn't not like this game, it had its moments but I felt there was so much more that could've made the game more satisfying. What's your thoughts? :foodndrink:

"Grea"t, <_<, the US Army and Government that got turned into a gang of useless fools disagrees but whatever. NV is pretty one-sided, I just look at the advantages of having more NCR means more that I can kill.

First of all I love Fallout 3, but its story was dumbed down for under aged audiences, it was short, narrow and left you to side with the Brotherhood of Steel, which as badass as they are, it gets boring. As for the game not being played after you complete it... It allows room for worthy game expansions or spin offs, where as Broken Steel left you with a "Wtf" or "how in the hell" moment then left you with a huge disappointment.

Who cares if the beginning had nothing to do with the NCR/Legion conflict? It built up as you explored/followed. You begin to realize your revenge problem is far too small to be equal to the upcoming battle of Hoover Dam. Goodsprings tells you about the major factions and their past. They leave you guessing and wishing to see these mighty armies. Primm being your first look at the NCR, following Nipton with the Legion.

As for the quest line being unsatisfying... upcoming war and tragedy or finding your daddy... Hmm...

And where are you getting Nuclear Codes from?

So that's where I went wrong. I sided with the wrong faction, that's why there's nothing fun to do.

Agreed. I once made a CL person, its was hell, especially in the strip area. Being neutral at the least with NCR is the best way to go.

Welcome to the Forum.

This could become a Fallout 3 vs New Vegas thread very fast :sadvaultboy:

Your topic is "Not Impressed" Fallout series. I just want to ask.... Did you play Fallout and Fallout 2? Because New Vegas has more in common with them then Fallout 3.

What you been smoking man? NV and 3 are two different games.

Fallout three is a spin off

New Vegas is a sequel.

End of story, mod, lock this before it gets outa hand.

Hey I don t know if you knew this of not, but BETHESDA OWNS FALLOUT RIGHT NOW. So your dumb comments r not the end of the story.

Fo3 follows the remaining Enclave from fo2 to DC, because Bethesda devs think Enclave would have made a play on DC as well. There for it is a sequel, because it countinues a story.

So when you say "end of story" it really isnt, because Bethesda decides what games to put numbers on. Let me check........Yeah fo3 is still called fo3 and nv is still called nv. So your story is all a lie.
Just because a new poster can on here and said what they think in an advlt manner doesn t mean its bash fo3 time.
Then I like how u order a mod to lock this before it gets "out of hand" right after you stir to pot more than anyone. lol

See this ^^^^^^^ is how you get a point across with out pissing people off. See how he welcomes him to the fourm, then gives him some fourm advice then mildly gets his point in last, but dosen t really bash fo3.

Icouldntthinkofaname you have to word things a bit better then you wouldn t have to order a mod to lock a thread after you do some bashing. Think about what you write before you write it. While writing you can even look over it and get a feel of the tone and change it before u post it.

Does not continue the story just because the Enclave are in Fallout 3. Fallout 2 is a sequel to Fallout because the Chosen One is a descendant of the Vault Dweller and continues to help NCR and save the people of the western wasteland. Has to find Vault 13, he wears the Vault 13 jump suit. Comes across many references to the Vault Dweller.

Not bashing Fallout 3 lol. The only sequel in Fallout Universe IMO is Fallout 2.

Since we already have an active "http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1177367-three-vs-n-v/" thread in this sub-forum, let's use that one instead.
