Im not killing BoS or House but cant procede if I dont

Post » Sat Sep 04, 2010 3:14 am

So im trying to complete the game without killing any neutral or good factions such as house, NCR and BoS

But for me to continue the main quest, I need to kill off either the BoS or house which niether option i want to do. Is there anyway i can pass these two quests so the NCR, House and BoS dont getwiped out and I dont care how far I would have to go.

I would be dissapointed there is no way to do so.

If you side with the NCR and you left Elder McNamara in his post, you can arrange an alliance between the two factions. If killing house is necessary to progress with the NCR, I do not know.

I am not sure that is true. I replaced McNamara and the new elder agreed to work with the NCR as well. However, the NCR general at the Dam was not ready to accept that the BoS were going to cooperative and seemed skeptical.

What? That's not how it should be. Hardin is supposed to be a hardline anti-NCR Paladin who wouldn't ever work with the NCR. :\

I think you have to bite the bullet and eliminate House. I have been goofing around trying to avoid it for couple of days now.

Its kinda annoying how I hardly get to make my own choice to procede

Funny how others dont see the wrong of either, killing off a highly advanced tech group or an old man being position of power with no intrests to abuse

Cant do things my way? then the game will never end for the fact I have to go against what I feel. I know we cant get what we want all the time but that doesnt mean I have to be the one to go against what I want. I dont care if house is infiltrated by NCR spies and is killed, aslong as I dont have to do it but with no alternative of this, I think it svcks.

You could go see Yes Man.

You would still have to get rid of House though.

as far as i understand it, there are 3 ways to get the end, follow NCR, follow the legion, (i believe both NCR and legion let you keep house alive) or go independent and kill house and follow yes man, ive done independent (which made me fail the house always wins quests and not procede any farther down house always wins and had to do the wild card set of quests which then ended up failing render unto caesar) and gone the legion way (render unto caesar, arizona killer...) point being, you cant please everybody, just have to svck it up and choose who dies, lol

I don't think you HAVE to kill house if you follow yes man. Just unhook him from the computer mainframe.

That kills him, he dies within a year at the most from microbial infection.

The weird thing is that in the GECK there is some kind of quest completion for convincing House that the brotherhood could be useful against NCR, but that doesn't seem possible to execute ingame.

You can ally the BoS with the NCR, talking to the general and getting the skepticism still means you're allied, she's just dubious of trusting the BoS.

havent gone the "good route" yet (i guess could consider NCR the good route), went through killing anything and everything i wanted to and went independent, and have gone the siding with legion route, working on siding with NCR now, independent playthrough, went down into the BoS bunker and murdered everybody :whistling: lol

trying to be good ?

you have slaughtered fiends
you have slaughtered mole rats
manti
mutants
ants
powder gangers
convicts

all might have had families
all might have left loved ones weeping and hating the one who slaughtered thier beloveds

there is no "good" path, you`re a murdering bastid leaving a wake of blood guts and bereaved families.

might be true, but 6 of those 7 are usually trying to kill you first, so.... powder gangers, being one of the main factions, you usually have to piss them off first or be wearing the wrong outfit

Being neutral when bad things are happening is not right, it is considered bad......

Ghandi said something like that ^

But, you have to make your choice....

Wrong, there is 4.

1: Yes Man (Wild Card)
2: Mr. House (The House Always Wins)
3: NCR - something
4: Ceasar (Render Unto Ceasar)

You can make peace between NCR and BoS by completing Still in the Dark while keeping McNamara. Afterwards, ask him and he'll mention they're no longer rivals and says he'll make peace with them. However, House still has to die.

House doesn't have to die, you can just disable his connection.

In every quest except House's own, House has got to go.

There is no avoiding it. He is sitting on top of too much power that other people want, and he will not leave it voluntarily.

You are correct in that for any of the other three endings Mr. House has to die (disabling his connection is the same as killing him due to opening his chamber).
