Post » Thu Nov 26, 2015 9:55 pm

Hello guys

I reinstalled the game 2 times but every time I click start the game on steam , I get the launcher and if I click " play " after a few seconds of loading screen it crashes.
I tried all the suggestions made by the community, but nothing works for me.

Here are my specs

Yeah i have also had the probleem. I go to click play, and it loads for a few seconds, then just quits out of it. It seems to be a common problem. I wonder how they didnt find it before and fix it.

Getting sick of seeing:

"Fallout 4 has stopped working"

"A problem caused the problem to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"

Solutions I have tried:

  • Installed new drivers
  • Set to beta (after I reinstalled there is no longer an option to go to beta so I can't change it know for some reason)
  • Reinstalled
  • Set to windowed
  • Changed compatibility to anything available (e.g Windows Vista Service Pack 1)
  • Run as administrator
  • Restarted computer
  • Verify integrity of game cache
  • Deleted INIs

I always get the black screen and the message, the game doesn't even begin to start

Specs:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • Memory: 8GB Ram
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-2600k CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.7GHz
  • Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 560

Hi

Count me in too. Click play and in 2 seconds black screen and back to the desktop. Tried every fix that find.

I think its stypid to say your GPU is old. I have old computer but every game from steam have worked someway. Slow but has worked.

If i but every setting to minimum there is not much for GPU.

Bethesda should fix this and says something about this problem.

If you don't meet the hardware requirements it's not Bethesdas fault. That's the same as asking for it to play on the Xbox 360, or if your hardware is really bad, the orginal Xbox.

That said, let us know your system specs and someone might be able to help.

PC is not Xbox...

I wait for fix this game is going to start in my museum computer. If not then its refund and forget it.

There is many users how have good enough systems and same error!

I have not find single PC game that does not start. Maybe old dos times. autoexec.bat and config.sys.

Its bit different to pay 1500€ PC in every 4 years or 500€ console.

What is strange to me, yesterday the game loaded. I even played about an hour, until the character exited the vault talking with Codsworth. I played more creating some weird named character for the robot to say...

Today I open the game, steam downloading something, and after that the game doesn't load. So for me it's not a old outdated computer.

I have Windows 10 64 bit, AMD Phenom II X4 3.40 GHz, 12 Gigs RAM, AMD R9 200 Series Graphic Card, that Fallout 4 Launcher detected with Ultra.

I apologize if I came off harsh. They aren't the same in some ways, but are in others. By that I mean you won't get Fallout 4 to work on an orginal xbox, the same as you won't get it to work on an old computer.

If you can provide your system specs, I can try to help.

I understand that it is not the "best" card there is (on a laptop) but a low quality, it should at least start the game?

It isn't even a card. It's built into the CPU. At that, it's an older version of built in graphics. My laptop has the same and it can barely run Morrowind.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it just isn't going to work on your machine.

i had the same problem you guys are having, and i fixed it last night by playing with my resolution and making sure the resolution in the launcher settings and my nvidia control panel settings both matched, i had to use a lower resolution than i liked, but it worked in borderless windowed mode.

CPU is fine. What's the exact GPU model? Should probably be good enough to run it with that series. Obviously there is something up with the folks in this thread having problems. I'm just jumping in when I see hardware that's a no go, but I don't have answers for this problem when hardware is not the likely problem.

Not sure if this will help anyone, but I had this problem until I downgraded from Windows 10 back to Windows 7 last night. It was then immediately fixed. I have a AMD Radeon R9 270 video card which seemed to have lots of problem with Windows 10.

I've had zero issues in a few hours of playtime since then.

I did restart Steam more than once, I also restarted the computers. Still the game refuses to run.

Started my refund request via Steam Support. No more Bethesda titles for me anymore. Goodbye! :)
