It is not people's connections.

Really tired of seeing people say:
It's your ISP
It's your NAT
It's your Upload rate
It's your wireless

You people haven't figured out by now that this is not our connections fault? Seriously? Especially after being told over and over that we play all other P2P games perfectly fine but we can not play crysis2?

These are both being ran on my laptop running a wireless connection, peerblock and a firewall.

My Xbox is running a wired connection, open NAT, ports forwarded, DMZ'd.

I play CoD and Halo:reach PERFECTLY. I have maybe.... 1 in 20 games that even appear to be laggy. No "really I hit him in the face and it didn't register" moments at all. In either game, period. Yet in Crysis2 I might have 1-2 out of 10 games where I would actually consider it playable. Then even in those games, the host changes at intermission for no god damned reason and the game is back to laggy unplayable garbage again.

Stop saying this is people's connections, sure, there's going to be some idiot on here with a wireless dialup connection wondering why he can't get a good game... but it is certainly not a situation where the majority of complaints are because of user error. This game's network code is horrible. Like, 10 years ago kinda bad.

The servers are probably based off of in Europe, hence why the online svcks big dike. Crytek can't develope a station inthe US or North America at all. pathetic really. Thats why seperate servers need to be held and this P2P **** needs to be removed.

Your right & Amen brother, it's the game it selects a random host who lives in Japan, China or someone else who lives in a far off land,

Just right now I was in a game with 15 Europeans, a few Germans, English & 2 dudes from Norway..... it selects the dude who lives in California.......

11 people in 1 bar connection laggy jumpy and just plain wrong & 1 USA guy with full 5 bar connection destroyed us all

I dunno man; in this game getting host doesn't mean sh*t. I've been host loads of time and STILL had lag the whole match. It's F**king weird!

It absolutely seems like my best matches are the ones where I have 3 green, or even 2 yellow bars. Some of those have felt better connected than when I have the full 4 bars. How can it be?!

The game is bonkers!

It sure is.

I'm still waiting for a bit of information as to what Crytek are doing about it.

Cry-Adam - what's the latest??

At this rate, Gears 3 is gonna leave the competition behind. Sure, there are other great games out there, but with a laggy MP they can't compare. Consoles need dedicated servers.

-PLEASE NOTE-
For the hit detection to work, you actually have to aim at the target.

Yup sure do and then after I've hit them with enough bullets to kill them I have to stop shooting and wait for the host to relay the "this player just died" msg from across the ocean.

Sadly, your troll comment would be more useful had you not directed it at someone who has played FPS games for.... 14 years.

I've gotten to where I know about how many bullets I need to kill the target and can seriously stop firing and count to 3 before they die and I'm rewarded the kill. Connections in this game are garbage and host selection is by far the biggest issue. I honestly don't see any problems with the hit detection. It seems to be perfect when the host isn't on dialup. Whoever wrote the code that tests host capability should be fired.

over the last week end, i have found that the connection on games has vastly improved. all games i played , everyone had at least a 3 bar, with host on 4 bars! played some great games, and managed to win one!! but previous to that weekend, the connection was ****, so maybe something changed their end?
