So I'm definitely not the best with mods, and I keep getting error messages when I try to install this mod http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11495

when I open it up with 7zip all there are is the readme which does not tell me how to install it, and a .esp file, which when I click it gives me the error

"C:\Users\Pandaman\AppData\Local\Temp\7zO1815.tmp\Alternative Start by Robert Evrae.esp, The specified path does not exist. Check the path, and then try again."

I have no idea what any of this means, but I get this 'path error' any time i try installing a mod that involves .esp files instead of just unzipping / transfering files

well do you use obmm or wrye bash. if i were you id defenatly use some sort of program to install the mods. makes it quite easy to remove them as well. you will also need to use boss to make sure your load order is right. but as for what to do with an esp file it just goes in your data folder. . .

but again if i were you id use wrye bash to install it.

as long as the mod is in 7 zip format and has the right file set up. you can just drop the entire 7 zip into bash installers folder. go to the installers tab and hit install . it will open the 7 zip and install it all for you.

It supports zip and rar as well as 7z and even loose files in a sub-folder.
