Not sure I want this game.

I am a huge fan of FPS games and obviously I have tried them all. Although I am not too found of CoD, but enjoy Battlefield series much, since team work in these are so much more essential.

Either way, I have been following Brink for the past year with much anticipation and have been looking forward getting this title.
But now, I am unsure.
It does seem very well done still and like alot of fun, but....I prefer to play FPS on the Xbox. I do have a decent PC, but in order to minimize hacking etc I found the Xbox to simply be a lot better and more fun platform to play on.
During the days I played CoD...atleast 1-3 hackers per game, atleast. I went ahead and got the same game to Xbox. And to this day I might..might, have seen one cheater in hundreds of games.
It makes the feeling of gaming so much more relaxed and fun.

And now I hear the game have a huge difference between PC and Xbox version. Graphics, ok some I can live with, but the unbuilt 512mb video card of the Xbox can actually render some beautiful things.
Even bad company 2 looked similar on PC and Xbox, not to mention other titles.

None Dedicated servers: How can you even RELEASE a multiplayer game, with no dedicated servers. Its like a slap in the face of the whole FPS community, and whoever thought of this, I dont belong in that position.
It is not just redicilously poor thinking, its borderline shameful.

I really want this game, but I dont feel like giving Beth and SP my cash yet until they fixed their game.

I know you will tell me to buy it on PC. But I dont want that. I want it on the damn Xbox, and I want it to work, with dedicated servers.

Its like playing say BC2 or CoD and having to invite friends or start servers to even HAVE a game. How the hell did they think?
Only games with such poor thinking are usually very strong single player games. This is not.

Now...I have not even tried the game yet, but again....
So how does the Xbox community fare with this game?
Have you tried both on PC and XBOX, is there a huge difference?

And people say for the PC there is a modding community....well thats what I DONT want. Cause if you let people into the code of modding, you can be damn straight about hackers follows that train. Its like 1+1.
And Im not playing another aimbot and wallhack CoD game again on the PC.

Any suggestions? Ditch this game and pick up LA Noire or buy it and feel the pain of Xbox where we play vs bots 247?

Its a little weird thinking from the developer when they fail to realize that the XBOX FPS community alone, is around two to three times bigger then the complete PC community. Thats not even included the PS3 community.
I know hardcoe PC players will disagree, but then you are very wrong. This is just simple facts giving stats from all current block buster shooters. The Xbox and PS3 community together, is roughly 4 to 5 times the size of the complete PC community.
Thats why developers aim to get their console versions top notch.
Now Im an avid PC player and will have some games for the PC. But shooters, I think does its best on consoles. We also can skip out on 14 year old rocket scientists with reflexes like Blixt Gordon that can headshot from 1000 yards within 0.001 seconds of being a full 180 degrees away to start with.

In hind-sight, I would have waited to purchase this game until a month or so from now to see if it has the staying power to become a quality online FPS. Maybe see if any patches come along that make the experience more enjoyable.

My opinion... wait and see? Maybe check back in a few weeks to see the current 'mood' of us posters?

Had the game since release date and still don't know if I am only playing to not face the facts I threw 60 bucks away.

I have advised to anyone who has asked about this game to rent it, that should be enough for you to know that unless some changes are made you don't want to own this one.

Get it for PC. nuff said. even if u said u dun wanna.

Deal with it.

Consoles are the one that ruining the game industry.

The end.

PS: Brink SMART movement system tends to be bit buggered on consoles.

I am honestly strongly considering this.

First its cheaper, you have dedicated servers and of course graphics are better.
I just like playing on my full HD 40 inch screen on the xbox, but....

Almost every review out there is done on the xbox it seems, few reviewers tried the PC version.
Heck, even some hardcoe gaming sites ive seen, they discuss the xbox version only and find it good.

I know I will pick this title up, I think it looks awsome and Im sure developers will come through.
I just wish they would fix or give INDICATIONS that there will be dedicated servers for the xbox.
So far Im reading the forums and find very little developer "in the pipeline" posts.
Ill still think about it. Its very new so...Im sure this game will be fully fixed later on, but I would like to try it now:-)

I would suggest to rent the game. It's love or hate it kind of game. :D

EDIT: Also, devs tend to respond in the official Splash Damage Brink forums if you want to look there for info and stuff. :)

If you've ever played Wolf:ET or Quake Wars then you know what to expect.
If you like those games then you'll probably like this.
If you've never played either of those then either watch some youtube vids or find a friend who has it and give it a shot.

Personally I loved Quake Wars and this is a similar style shooter and I love it. Got it on pre-order and the only thing that annoyed me was that it was released on the 10th in the States and on the 13th in the UK. 3 whole extra days of waiting = eternity.

Platform of choice for this style game will always be PC - dedicated servers, better hardware and better controls. Some people prefer consoles anyway: Personal choice I suppose, but Xbox players seem to be having the most problems (PS3 players seem mostly ok but you still don't have a mouse).

You could always drag your PC over to the tv and hook it up with an HDMI cable?

A youre boring
B youre poor
C youre slow
D your post was a waste of time
E so what dolls do you like dressing, considering you bought it? ;)
F you make retards look accomplished :)

lol Ah, I joke & make the fun & the giggles. It is bit of a marmite game though. Its objective based so if you dont like objectives (as the poster quoted above clearly doesnt, shame he didnt read a review or two) then give it a miss, but def try it first. Its got a few issues at mo but is very promising.
