Kia Ora

I'm a bit lost I take a standard AR stone bench and edit the ID so as not to change the world,
this bench as 3 seat spots on it in the lower window but as soon a I select the new nif file theyer off
disapair and I haven't found a way to add any. I wanted to use the Dwarven Bench to replace the stone one

What dwarven bench? The model is probably not set up with furniture markers. Copy the node from an existing bench in Nifskope and make sure you're creating it as furniture in the CS.

Thanks for the reply, I'll see if I'm clever enought to sort it out it's the following mod resource:

Dwarven City - a modder's resource
by mr_siika

This modder's resource contains meshes for an undergound city of epic scale, with vast halls,
endless corridors and bottomless chasms.

The Dwarven bench in that resource does not have any furniture markers placed inside the NIF so you would need to use Nifskope to open both the dwarven bench and the stone bench in seperate instances - be sure that the furniture markers are set to be shown (under render - Draw Furniture) then copy the branches of the furniture markers and then paste them in the dwarven bench - save and then it will have the markers in the CS to turn on like the stone bench.

IF you need help with it PM me and I'll make the adjustments (just need to know what the name of the bench meshes are if you have them so I use the correct ones) - I'll be pretty busy during the day but should have time tomorrow evening.

Thank you so much,.. I looked for a tutroial but only found retexture ones it's the dwarvenbench.nif in the quaters folder,.. I'm not woried which bench is used I just grabed the arbench01.nif thinking it's as close to the
same. I tried to copy and paste the BSFurnitureMarker across but it would not land in the same place it keep dropping in at the bottom under the texture data last in the list, or does it not matter where in the list it is?

Getting ready to go to work in just a bit but will set it up this evening and send you some details of what was done along with a download link -- Did you want it the same size as the current bench it is replacing and with 3 seating positions ? -- After looking at it quickly it is currently a bit smaller size and would probably work better with only 2 positions at its current size but can be enlarged fairly easily as well if the place you want it needs 3 seat locations (so just need to know which you want.)

This is the bench you wanted correct -- ( http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc189/JDFanning_bucket/bench.jpg )

No problem --- Sorry to get it done so late but had friends visiting from Japan so took them to dinner and got back later than expected. http://www.4shared.com/get/mwj-qux7/dwarvenbenchwFURN.html -- I added 2 furniture markers and adjusted the position so that they are at the correct position on the bench - the placement might need a small bit of tweaking but should be very close (might need to adjust the z axis depending on how close to the ground you set them) - to adjust the sit height just change the z axis value under the furniture position offset shown in this http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc189/JDFanning_bucket/marker.jpg (current value is 10 higher would raise them off the bench lower will sit them lower on the bench) - I did a quick test in game to make sure the markers are working correctly and it seemed fine but depending on the placement it might need some minor adjustment so figured I'd explain how to do that. ( X value moves forward\back on bench - y value moves left\right - and Z is up\down) - be sure to adjust the setting on both markers if needed. Let me know if you have any problems.

Thanks -- and they are fine they live near Tokyo so were not effected too badly by the earthquake or tsunami following it but did worry a bit about the Nuclear plants for awhile -- they were in chicago this last week for a medical convention through the Tokyo University Hospital then stopped by for a day to visit on the way back home so took them out to a local Steak house for a 2lb. T-bone steak and a few Beers since they do not get much red meat in Japan. Hope the NIF is working properly since I was feeling the beer just a bit while making it.

To get it to paste properly you need to make sure the 0 ninode on both Nifs are named the same (otherwise it gives you an error about not being able to paste it ) then hilight the 0 ninode before right clicking to paste the furniture node - then it is just a matter of adjusting the settings to get the proper placement -- the position ref 1 and 2 are the same value (11 - 12 - 13 or 14) and adjust the leg position of the seated model -- the orientation adjusts the approach position clockwise with 0 facing directly toward the x axis and 1570 facing the y axis (1570 is pretty much equal to a 90 degree turn - 3140 is 180 degree - and 6280 is same position as 0 ) --- then the offset adjusts the x,y and z position of the seated model. Just takes a bit of looking at the existing furniture pieces and then playing with various #'s to see what each setting does

Hmm - was the sit icon coming up ? - was it a clean save ? (could be you were not close enough to the bench or if it was a save that you had used previously the save may have used the old Nif instead of the new one (since I see you still have the one non sittable bench in the SS) - or perhaps the info was used from RAM instead of reloading the changes the first time (this game does some strange things at times due to not clearing RAM etc.) --- So they are working correctly now though correct ? (If not let me know and I'll take a closer look)

I got it sorted out. In the first place I just changed the nif file over using the first seat I made in CS that seems where the issue was, I got an MCBench01Frtlt and started agin selecting the nif you kindly modified for me
and it's all good now, the MCBench01Frtlt is a 2 seater to so maybe that works better in the long run.

I always use a save char from before the mod I'm making and in this case by the time I got to the market place they'er seated eating their meals
