To be or not to be

Iam at the current moment that I can choose factions, namely to join the Imperial legion or the Stormcloacks.

From the outside the cities of Windhelm and Solitude look big and fortified which give u the idea that both are well organised.

Before I visited any of these cities I was leaning towards joining the rebellions (aka Stormcloaks) because the point they make which convince me, is to fight for indepence against an empire that ignores their requests. Besides it sounds like they dont treat them with respect..

But when I started exploring Windhelm by talking with the people and observing the surroundings, my respect towards the rebellion became less. Because the city looks like a mess, the people who are no nords are treated like second-hand citizens and the "High-Kind" Ulfric doenst care about it..

Than when I saw Solitude it was like a fairy tale. A city high on the cliffes, reaching on the high mountains. Upon entering it feels like u enter a paradise. No citizens are treated second-hand where people look happy in where u can see things are good organised.

But than again when I speak to Ulfric (the king of Windhelm) he speaks with so much conviction like William Wallice of Braveheart. U start to think about his motives to fight for freedom in Skyrim, which cause me to come back at my previous thoughts about joining the Stormcloacks.

So as u can see iam stuck between the duality of good vs evil or is it evil vs good?

In my case I get confused which faction to choose, thats why i ask u guys what to chose is best and why do u think that it is?

For me, though, the reasons you outlined in your original post have absolutely nothing to do with good vs. evil, and everything to do with how you want to roleplay your character. The Imperials could easily be seen as evil IF your personal morality finds torture and, well, imperialism, to be evil. The Stormcloaks could be easily seen as evil IF your personal morality finds racism and terrorist tactics to be evil. It's all in how you want to play it. Which is the point of all the links I posted above.

If you're really, truly stuck, there is one solution: don't join either faction at all.

Pff to make it clear its about this duality as i said in my post, started it by making an introduction for the readers...

If u reason like u do there is no real discussion but just the mere fact of giving statements, unfortunatly life is not like that. Each action has a consequence which iam starting to discuss. Why should racism be allowed in exchange for freedom or why should torture be allowed for governing a world..
Arguments pls and not a balance of IF's..

I strongly suggest you discuss it in one of the threads I linked above; they have a lot of discussion to offer already on the subject based on the game. I am merely pointing out that since this is a roleplaying game, you are free to choose however you or your character feels based on the actions that the Imperials and Stormcloaks do to/for you in the game.

But what's the good thing to do? To decide fighting for a cause or be passive and dont take any action. Being passive can as well be considered not doing any good, in other words those around u suffer because of ur inability to act

Ive decided which faction to chose, it will be the stormcloacks. I spoke with some1 in the hall of dead in Solitude and he warned me about the imperialism. It may all look nice but from inside its rotten.
