I got one question Why wasn't Skyrim added to Xbox One Backwards Compatible?

I mean Microsolf added a voting poll to vote for our favorite games to be added to

the Backwards Compatible but when list of 104 games was released Skyrim wasn't

on the list & that list is very disappointing when look at it.I think its pathetic & disrespectful

that fans like myself was ignored & letdown over this whole backwards compatible thing.

Please Bethesda if you're listening or read this please add Skyrim to XboxOne backwards compatible!   :nono:

pretty sure its not Bethesda's choice if its backwards compatible with the Xbox One or not at the end of the day,

the backwards compatibility is emulation based, not by an edit to the game itself.. as such, what games are playable via this form of emulation are the responsibility of the people working behind the emulation software's development, aka Microsoft XBox division

And did you even bother reading http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1542916-turns-out-bethesda-actually-did-it-even-as-an-exercise/ before whining about your own poor choice of console?

fyi, the OP of that thread clearly shows they did it as an exercise in order to get to know how the platform works a bit better, that does not mean they are going to release it

As Funnybunny has pointed out,it is NOT Bethesda's call on compatibility,Micro$oft is the responsible party here so,for what it's worth,I'd go to the official X-Box forums at Microsoft and start asking questions there, don't think anyone here at this forum is going to be of any help........

I completely feel your pain as I too was looking forward to playing my 360 copy of Skyrim on my One & was surprised that it didn't make the initial list of 104 games, yet has been quoted as being in the top 4 requested games. Surely Bethesda wouldn't say no to allowing this to happen seeing Microsoft has indicated that part of this process involves licensing/approval from the publisher.

I think there are a couple possibilities at play here:

1) The initial list were among the "easiest" to certify for compatibility due to some of them being owned exclusively by MS and the others already having the licensing sorted out. We have to keep in mind that this is also for marketing & to help generate additional revenue by encouraging folks to move away from the 360. So the more games they could announce during launch, the better.

2) Skyrim is coming as part of a future list of additional games for compatibility as they've indicated they will be adding to this list over time

3) This is more speculation & hopes on my part, but maybe Bethesda is holding off because they're still deciding on what to do with the nugget of info they made known as part of the Fallout 4 development interview, when Todd Howard told Game Informer how they ported it to Xbox One as a technical exercise to acclimate themselves with the hardware early on in Fallout development. I believe the quote was "Don't get your hopes up just yet" which hopefully means it was stated purposely & indicates they haven't completely written off the idea of pursuing it as a side project between now & the eventual release of TES 6, which is probably at least 5 years away.

If Bethesda did have a say they might have just wanted Fallout 3 first since Fallout 4 was just released and did not want Skyrim or any TES game to damper the launch of Fallout 4. More games will be added as time goes by. Many of the big name games have not been ported over yet for the backwards compatibility emulation mode.

Yep this is one of the reasons that I wait until top of the line tech has become obsolete before spending money.

I bought a bunch of 360 games for waaay less than most payed when they were released And im still getting the same enjoyment.

I personally think that the PC tech companies have the tech for like a PS10 right now but it's more profitable to release the tech in segments.
