Not very realistic

Post » Sun Jan 10, 2016 8:05 pm

I'm shooting monsters right in the face with missiles and 10 missiles hitting them right in the kisser doesn't even faze them.

Same for shotguns and bullets.

40 - 50 shots right in the head and they just keep coming.

Blood flies == you would expect them to go down after two or three shots right in the head but nooooo.

Very unrealistic ... super mutants or not a head shot should kill them certainly it shouldn't take more than two shots to the head.

40 shots or more and not killing them is ridiculous.

FNV had a great realistic damage mod. guess you'll have to wait for FO4 equivalent.

"Realistic" or perhaps "expected", but missiles do seem like shooting arrows from a bow. Maybe they could patch it.

I guess the closest to realistic you can get is playing on Very Easy with only 1 point in END.

*glances at pipboy to stop time in the middle of injecting an ounce of purple liquid to repair crippling leg injuries caused by falling twelve stories onto a pile of rebar and broken concrete*

Unrealistic? Hmm...you know, you may be on to something there.

Weapon balance overhaul

This right here. It was never meant to be a simulation.

Thank goodness its not realistic. Try to wear power in Australia in middle of summer. Its like being in a cabin tractor without aircon.

I modified a Mod from Nexus for myself. Enemies making 11x more Damage and the Player 3x. Default Survival Value is Enemies 2x and the Player 0.5x. Normal Mode is both 1x. I like this Way more than the Default.

Use "believable" instead of "realistic" to avoid hordes of angsty apologists.

And yeah, the bulletspongines in this game is quite unbelievable, both literally and figuratively. It kind of defeats the point of having good shooting mechanics.

You'll want to wait for mods, if you're not on the PC. Someone will eventually make the most awesome survival mods incorporating all sorts of things into the mix (like camping, and cold and eating and so on).

the upper difficulties make bulletspongey enemies. i wish they had made a mode where all weapon damage was multiplied, against you and your enemies. Granted this is an rpg so its more about NUMBERS! than realism.

The Compass must be off. Then you dont see where are the Enemies and how many they are. Oh man, this must be just wonderful in a Ghul Area.

Perhaps. I suppose I'm just used to it (enemies in videogames, particularly RPGs, taking N number of attacks to kill) from decades of playing. It honestly doesn't bother me.

(well, except for those Action/RPG games where they have bosses with 10 health bars/millions of HP. That's just a tedious grind.)

More information would be helpful. Are you investing in weapon type perks, Rifles, Big Guns, etc... AGI, Perception, VATS or no VATS... Then you also have to consider damage types. All these things matter.

Realism went out the window for me the moment I was able to slap together a small house with my bare hands and the junk in my pockets.
But...that's okay. Its a video game.

If I want realism, I'll go take a walk, which I often do.

Absolutely nothing in the game is realistic...not one tiny thing.

I already had enough fallout realism working at White Sands Missile Range near the Trinity site. I probably glow in the dark.

I must be playing a different game. No bug takes more than a couple of 5.56. I routinely kill Super Mutants with head shots. Real tough ones will take a couple.

Now I'm playing on Survival and never, ever use VATS. So it's probably a lot easier for me. ;)
