Where the hell is slavery in Fallout 4? A Fallout without slaves? Why? How?

I can only think the Devs felt the subject of human slavery would overshadow their Synth fight for freedom main theme?

It does seem rather naive to completely ignore the subject given the environment (and past Fallout lore).

Hmmm, the oppressed fighting for the right to be free? Where have I heard this before?

Actually, I would argue that slavery is already in, in the sense that the synths are the oppressed, and considered property (we already know this from FO3). Just because it doesn't appear to be in game like itwas previously, doesn't mean it's not in at all.

After all, the is something in game known as The Railroad...which is pretty much identical to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underground_Railroad of the American 19th century.

Did FO3 have slavery?

As far as I can tell, it's just representative of the actual real-life fact that the East Coast is much more civilized.

There is slavery in FO4, or at least hints of it(I didnt comply with the slavers so I wouldn't know what would happen if I did).

Paradise Falls. You could take jobs from them enslaving specific targets (including a child) if you were so inclined. I always just wiped out the whole town.

I captured synths and brought them home for "reprogramming" a smiliar way I did people and paradise falls. Or maybe you haven't done that yet?

Weren't Slavers from NCR? I was reading that; " In 2241, the head of the Slaver's Guild - Metzger, who's headquarters is in the Den." I remember Fallout 1 and 2 being located in Southern Cali. So maybe the Slavers didn't make their way to Boston? It would be quit a trip to make.

There were slavers in the Capital Wasteland, why shouldn't they be in The Commonwealth too?

The theory that slavery in Boston might overshadow the plight the synths face, just may be the best theory there is to go on. Unless Beth comes out and tell us the real reason they were left out.

And you can pretty much bet your last penny that there will be a slavery mod for F4. Personally, I would love this, even if I don't play as a slaver. It'd be nice to see them out and about again.

I met a character who wanted me to sell them someone but I declined, I think that falls under slavery.

Yeah especially with the settlement building I can for sure see people wanting to build slave quarters or a prison type building

Slavers? Man, WHERE THE HELL are all the hokerS...

There is no possible way in this world or any alternative world that in a complete anrachy and devastation there would be no one selling other people, and no one selling themselves...

Agreed. I have been trying to bring this concern up multiple times.

Slavery is a common and rather successful trade in the FO universe. I was very disappointed to see it absent in Fallout 4.

It was active in the Cap Wasteland and The Pitt

Is it as abundant as it was in previous Fallouts? No. But thats the thing, its much more underground and much more of something "lurking in the shadows" so to speak.

But again, to say there is no slavery in FO4 is FALSE. If you want to see what I and others are referring to, head South towards the peninsula towards the middle of the map(It is almost a straight line down past the southern border). You should find a quest that involves slavery/slavers.

well, as said previously there IS slavery in the game, and not just synths, it is just that unlike DC, which had paradise falls, and New vegas, which had the Legion, there are not prominent slaver groups, possibly wiped out (if any existed), by the minutemen before the fall.
