A note to Bethesda

Post » Wed Mar 31, 2010 7:12 am

Speaking of the censor, they still need to bring back the old censors. The people that understand :spotted owl: and noble seamstress are getting far too few.

Also, the Russian Reversal censor is 10x funnier than any of the jokes ever were.

Yep, there aren't many of us around that remember those. I liked them and I missed them greatly when they stopped doing that.

And I agree about the reversal censor. The jokes were corny the reversal was hysterical at times.

Oh and I remember the "my little pony" avys as well. I still have one around somewhere. :)

I faintly remember the old censors. The spotted owl I recognized.

No you don't. They have no feeling, and once one of my iron hands was resting on the stove burner... and of course I didn't feel it. So I went to pet Scout instead of taking a troll soul, and now she has a hand shaped section of missing fur from the burn. :(

The community here is absolutely the big reason why this forum remains a nice place to hang out. That may well have to do with the types of games gamesas develoops and the type of gamers it attracts. One of the things that I find really cool is the really wide range of ages of the members - it brings a lot of different perspectives to different issues.

I hereby initiate the Scout's Fur Fund - Giving back Scout's fur, one patch at a time.

Wow the quick response from you all just blows me away it really does. A couple questions whats warewolf and BGFS?
Also i agree with one of you when you said that this forum is different then it usually is on the internet, Or something like that . that is so true . You can see in my sig my birthdate and know im kind of older then the average gammer . My first game played was pong when it came out so ive watched the whole life of the gamming industry grow over the years . I finally stopped buying consoles about the time right after the x box and just went to the Pc . I have them all except a dreamcast i think it is. I got tired of buying controllers every single time a new system came out .

Saying to myself the least they could of done was make the controller ports the same for the new systems but nooo. Thats when the idea for my website was born . i have so many controllers i fear they may have become self aware , lol . Have raised two sons on my own that are also gammers . One of these days im going to go through boxes and make a list of all the games i have , it will be a long list for sure. But the last forum i think the age of most was younger , thats just a feeling i got. But it was more i think the lack of moderation more then anything.

So the slowness of the forums works in a good way; only the dedicated remain.

I find this to be one of the faster forums I browse actually, but that said its not really worth trolling here, most people are mellow enough not to give them the response they want.

Yep, and I am still friends with the fellow that sort of started all that. He doesn't come here anymore or if he does he uses an alt but he is one of my facebook friends and I occasionally drop by another forum where he goes. He deserved a spanking since he had everyone spamming it everywhere until it was censored. I wasn't a moderator then.

When I am not funny spam bans you.

Yep, still censored.

I remember when I found that out by accident back when we had the map thread.

Who can forget about Noble Seamstress?

I'm glad that at least we still have "Please continue my good sir." I've seen a few flame happy folks foiled in their efforts by this hilarious reversal.

I just wish the Spotted Owl would come back.

oh Your talking about /v/ right? That is what you are talking about if I guess right. Yea I heard it is good there. And yes there is topics we don't touch and hope never to touch heck I won't even mention them just thinking of the side affects.

Oh god no. I'm talking about /tg/ (traditional games, I even said it in my post, although I guess you could confuse games with video games). You know board games, tabletop games, roleplaying games, etc, although they LOVE older video games like X-Com, Alpha Centauri, Civ, and other games like Dwarf Fortress and Mechwarrior. Man, they've got a TON of X-Com and Dwarf Fort fanart and meme posters and stuff. Its like all the awesomeness of things I like is condensed down into one board that actually has intelligent people on it (for the most part).

They also have really good philosophical discussions....

Maybe there is something true about the background you guys use and them brainwashing us , lol. Seems like my thread caused a little trip down memory lane for a few of you as well. I hope that was a good thing? Well back to the game ive been away for to long now , And they just cant seem to get along without me . thanks again and again awsome forums you guys keep up the good fight : ) :tops:

Combine excellent moderators, a great community and solid yet fair rules and you've got BGSF.

(EDIT: ow dear, now I'm confused whether it was bgsf or bsgf, stop brainwashing me into using the new BSF  )

Afeeter my first posting that warn thing showed up and i thought i had already did something wrong . And it was my very first thread lol. I was worry for a little bit till Rough explained it to me .

Oh yeah, I remember that, you panicked after seeing your empty warning bar :D

It must have been a moment of weakness on my part - I am normally a grumpy old bear, especially when my name is spelt wrongly. :stare:

One of the reasons is that the moderators are very active in these forums which I personally think it is a good thing. Another reason is that obviously most of the people who join these forums are interested in Bethesda games which are well known to be paradigm shifting rpgs and therefore you don't get many elitists or purists who can sometimes make it difficult for everybody in other forums. Besides, Bethesda games normally take a long time to complete and require some dedication therefore you don't get many party intruders like you do in other forums but most people who join these forums are here to stay for long and are probably interested in having a good image as well.

And i not plan on that happening anytime soon. I just wanted to give a little feeedback from a new users point of veiw about your forums  :tops: You all have done a great job with the forums IMO

Woah man... neither of my parents were born back then... that's beyond all comprehension that someone can remember that far back I mean that's 44 B.L. 44 years before our lord and savior was born (Lucario)

Okay, I give up, what's Lucario?
I hear it mentioned all the time. Is that a Pokemon?

Yes, this forum is great.
Also, I feel old now, Peace Bullet, because my parents were born in the late 40s. :)

I'm surprised there isn't some sort of secret brainwashing inside the forum schemes. :)
Oh, wait, "all Glory to the Hypnotoad!"

If I remember correctly only the old UBB forums are there, so when the IPB forums went up in 2004 they stopped being archived.

Ah, yes. That was when the forums were run by a hamster or something. Rodriguez or Antonio or I don't know.
