Note on Skyrim forums

I agree. I've been proposing something similar to this for years. I've always thought Bethesda should display our game version (XBox, PS3, PC) under our avatars.

I've spent a lot of time answering questions about these games. And I can't tell you how many hours I've wasted writing up a detailed answer to a question only to find out later that the questioner wasn't on the platform I assumed and that all my efforts were for nothing. Or, what's almost worse - being forced to ask what platform a person is playing on and then waiting and waiting for a reply before I can properly answer their question.

Too bad. I've managed to stay away from major DG spoilers and practically all DB spoilers, but I guess it will be much harder now. I suppose that I either will have to settle for getting those questlines spoiled, or start frequenting the forums much less. :( (Staying out of Cheats, Hints & Spoilers won't help, since I know that people can't stay away from posting spoilers here in General as well. Besides, the best threads are in CHS.)

I agree with your suggestion in essence, but I imagine that would get awfully cluttered after a while.

I would dearly love to see Bethesda get rid of our titles, our post counts, our registration dates and these stupid-looking kindergarten stars under our avatars. If we have to display them at all I think these things should be on our profile pages. That would free up screen space for something that is actually important...such as our game versions.

Everything merged.... my feeling on this is.

"Ok folks nothing more here to see, move on we are finished, that's it no more patches."

In my opinion anyone who realistically expect to have issues in a such a complex game should promptly specify on what platform they are playing in the signatures, because that's the only way you can tell. Otherwise, you would have to check everyone's profile to see if they're playing on console or PC, if they specify at all. That would get rid of all the 'oh well then you're screwed' unhelpful remarks.

My reaction to this: My daily time on the forums has just increased. I may have to give up some more work to fit this all in.

So that's what happens when a game rolls away from the spotlights?

What in the world is keeping people from playing the dlc already? I get those who waited for the GOTY edition, but everyone else? What's your excuse?

probably because the Vanilla game is good enough.
I got the DLCs when they first came out because I already had over 1,000 hours when dawnguard came out.

I can only speak for myself of course: First, PS3.
And then, I simply haven't had time. The characters I've played since I switched to PC right after Christmas have done other things. One of them will do DG, but not until she's done with some other stuff, which likely will take at least a couple more months, since I don't have that much time to play. (I plan on starting an exclusive DG character soon though, just to be done with it.)

I haven't even bought DB yet, since I know I haven't had a character ready for it.

Yes, but even if they did that, if someone happens to purchase a lot of Bethesda developed/published titles, it's going to get awfully messy to the left.

Having said that, Paradox Interactive do something similar on their forums; When you register a game on their site, you get an (tiny) icon for that game under your avatar. Hovering over the icon displays the game name, though the more common/popular ones are easy enough to spot. Only starts looking messy when some people have something like 40+ titles registered.

I don't think it is the end of Skyrim, but I had bookmarks to a lot of specific information that now won't work. With everything added in into one forum, it will take forever to once again find that stuff, or else write it off as lost and be pissed.

I was at work, so had NO chance to copy and paste what I wanted before it was a done deal. I understand their reasons, but it doesn't make me freaking happy about it. A bit of notice would have been nice! :stare:

AND I agree that questions will get lost fast, no matter what people do. Not cool. Sorry y'all, I know it's done but in my opinion it svcks rocks. A lot of us were regulars on those forums, and this feels bad.

I preferred how it was before. Just because I'm so adjusted to it. It was way more organized than it is now.

Do DLC questions go in CHS now, or is General Discussion ok?

Same as always. Spoilers go to spoiler section. Spoilers in general need a tag. There's no difference.

Not as many threads have to be moved now. People weren't always paying attention to where they posted what, and mixed all the dlc together. This way, all of the general topics go into the general forum, and the topics that deal with spoilers and hints goes in the spoilers, hints, and cheats forum.
