Notes And Nif Files

Post » Tue Sep 21, 2010 2:53 pm

In my mod, I am using a text "note" to give to the player for password access to a terminal. The terminal and the note are all set up but I need a .NIF file to put my message/password on either a holoodisk or a paper. When I try to edit the "model" in the note setup box, there are no .nif files to choose from in my meshes folder, so, I am guessing they need to be unpacked from the master FO3 file? Is this what I need to do, or is there an easier way for me to set up the password "note" for the player to use? Thanks for the help.

You would have to unpack them using FOMM, but instead, just look at all the notes, and right click and select 'priview' until you find one that looks like a Holotape or paper or whatever. Then open that, edit it to what yours says, then click ok, when prompted to make a new form say YES!!! if you say no it edits the actual item ingame. If you say yes, it keeps the original and also creates your form. This is much faster than extracting the necissary files and directing it to that nif.
