Notes on terminals

When you direct a choice for a terminal to a note, would it work if it was audio or picture? I would like the player to access some recordings via terminal, but I am unsure as to whether it would work or not. Since normally it takes you to some text, would it work just fine if it took you to an audio recording as well? You click the choice in the terminal, it takes you to another window and plays the tape. I figure it would, but didn't want to go through the 50 steps of making the holotape just to find out it did not. Thanks.

It certainly works for pictures as the terminal in the Overseer's office in Vault 101 shows picture of both Megaton and a giant ant. I have never tried an audio note, but my guess is that it would work. I haven't actually looked at the note it displays, so I cannot vouch for the format of the picture.

I think what I will do, is make a quick .esp that makes a terminal play some random audio holotape, then I can just see how that works.

After making a terminal play a holotape with audio I have concluded it cannot be done. When I selected the option ingame, simply nothing happened. It didn't change the menu at all, or anything. Then to ensure I set up the terminal right (cause thats hard to mess up :P) I changed it to another note with letters, and it displayed it no problem. This is a dissapointment as it would have been a good tool for me.

One option is a download audio link for the note vs a play option.

You can still do it. Simply make a terminal option that sets a script variable and then use that to play the sound recording. Although I'm not sure if the sound will play until you exit the terminal, but you could use the "ForceTerminalBack" command to force exit the terminal in that case. Or you can just add the note to the player from the terminal and have him play it from the pipboy later.

If that script was running in a http://geck.gamesas.com/index.php/MenuMode block, it should play sound just fine.
