Nothing to do in fallout anymore. 14 of skyrim

tl;dr, if you don't play pretend, you're ruining the game for yourself?

That's farcical. At that point, I'll just play a pen and paper game and have way more fun.

The same happens in Skyrim as well: NPCs magically spawn again in places you cleared.

I'd like to thank you mr. House. In FNV you didn't have me doing those stupid types of quests.

Of course I didn't. I am sure the NCR satisfied your needs with their different variants of the "Ooooh, we need to be saved!" quest. I only gave you missions that mattered.

(Author Note: in no way criticism on NV, just imitating House here XP)

My goodness. The complete ignorance illustrated by this post. Two points of order:

1. this isn't Twitter but a gaming forum. Where people try to discuss aspects of the game. In English and with reasonable grammar.

2. Learn to read.

Now why even bother commenting on a post if you lack fundamental reading comprehension skill sets--and are apparently incapable of reading simple paragraph? If you're this intellectually challenged on a gaming forum, you must really suffer in real life........

Oh dear. Looks like I've exceeded the 140 character A.D.D post limit...

Ad hominem much? Your thesis was flawed and I did not feel the need to spend hours dissecting why when it's apparent at a casual glance.

Secondly, I actually have Attention Defecit Hyperactivity Disorder and you clearly know nothing about how it works and are simply acting like an offensive boor.

Level 44 and I'm 101 hours and 5 minutes in on my first character. I haven't finished the main quest, but I know I'm getting close.

I'll admit I have done a decent amount of radiant questing for the XP rewards. I hardly think of it as grinding, though, as more times than not I was sent to a new location.

I have a pretty huge chunk of Boston discovered, but there are a handful of added locations on my map that I haven't visited, and, as I explore, I still see icons on my compass for destinations I haven't discovered pop up here and there.

I also gobble up every sidequest I can find. I have no problem fast traveling, but I like to wander as much as possible. This opens up the opportunity to stumble across the maximum amount of side content (just yesterday I stumbled into that small community in Covenant). And I'm the guy who will read every little note or terminal log entry I find. I haven't explored too deep into three of the four corners of the map (NW, far NE, far SE), though I did map out the Glowing Sea pretty well.

I also am not that big of a fan of the whole settlement aspect of the game. However, I do like the idea of building my own little custom base. 10 or so hours of my first playthrough have probably been dedicated to carefully customizing my home.

My first Bethesda game was Oblivion. By now I know what the basic idea is. I've been taking it as slow and patiently as possible.

I feel like there's some veiled hostility in this comment.

First off, he clearly implies that he's played Skyrim based on the title of this post.

Second, he's legitimately asking us if there's more to the game. Maybe he has missed a whole bunch of side quests? Why not give him some tips of hints instead of berating him?

Could not tell you if I wanted to partner. I've maybe 30 hours in and really haven't done many quests. Too much poking my head in doors seeing what's inside.

I remember in one of the interviews with the developers. He said he had around 400 hours into the game and is still finding new things.

I dunno, to me having done the main story and what I'd consider the "dedicated" side quests (non-miscellaneous stuff), I just haven't had the interest to do anything else. The building/crafting of towns doesn't do it for me personally, and I have the weapons/mods I want already. I'm at around 65 hours I think on one character?

I'm making another character, but after reloading the old one to see if the other endings are much different (they aren't) it kinda kills my dedication to do another full playthrough just a bit :/

Note: I'm not saying I find anything inherently bad about the game, or that the game itself isn't up to par, but I just haven't had the will or want to go back to it for days. Will probably change with mods, I have sunk an ungodly amount of hours into Skyrim after all.

It helps if you don't play open-world games for a long while, and every game nowadays is open-world so the spark is gone.

When I first tried Fallout 3 I made the mistake of concentrating on the main plot only, and it was all over way too soon. I decided not to make the same mistake this time, so I am taking my time.

Still I agree it does not feel as big as Skyrim and FNV, and I am doing a lot of repeat missions which did not happen in Skyrim and FNV. Although the F4 map is quite dense, and NPC interactions seem richer than previous games. Unfortunately most of the main F4 quest seem built into the main plot. In Skyrim, and to a lesser extent in FNV, there were many major quest lines that could be done independently to the main plot.

So I suspect there is less hours and replay value in F4 than Skyrim and FNV, but many of the game mechanics, graphics and NPC interactions are for the most part better.

Same here, I'm somewhere between 40-50 hours and only have a handful of quests under my belt...barely any main quest.

I have 82 hours logged an have only completed the BoS side of the story, still got the other 3 factions to do plus loads of side quests and explorations i missed, you must have rushed through the game if you have ran out of things to do already.

No hostility at all on my part.

Also clearly he doesn't imply that he has played Skyrim. He could have been going over what other sites and magazines have said

Thirdly hard to tell if he was legitimately asking or trolling. With all the trolling or negative comments going on, I couldn't tell if he was trolling or not. I gave the benefit of the doubt and answered his question. Again there is no hostility on my part I was genuinely answering his question to be helpful. :)

Fourthly, I am not eloquent with my words so maybe that is why some people could see my words being hostile. :)

I don't understand these threads. I am at the 50 hour mark maybe more and I literally have only been to Lexington and around. Have not touched the main quest, have been going in every building and spending hours in them. I love playing this way. You got to take it slow.

There are a lot of unique side quests out there, you just have to find them. There are also different quest lines that you can find, although I wouldnt call any of them major.

i can make an argument everything is the same thing over and over, all video games with quests, weapons and enemies you're just killing enemies and doing quests over and over, i like playing my favorite games over and over, i've played fallout 3, NV, the elder scrolls games, deus ex etc over and over and over, its fun to me, i like going back to some locations more than once a playthru, i've already cleared out the corvega factory twice in fallout 4, once at the beginning of the game and later to get the bobblehead, it was fun both times, i did the dawnstar questline in skyrim 3 or 4 times, same with dragonborne, i like those questlines, i liked going in the capitol building in fallout 3, i have no problem with going back to locations over and over again, i liked battling the supermutants in le enfant plaza in fallout 3, it was fun sneaking around battling the supermutants

you must not be into exploring dude, i've barely even done any of the main quest and i've been playing the game very day since the day it came out, i haven't discovered every location, not even close, maybe you just rushed thru the main quest too fast and missed the hundreds of hours of other things you could of been doing.

There isn't that much to do when you finish the main quest, it's not like the Elder Scrolls unfortunately. I wish there were some factions that had nothing to do with the main story. Still a big game though.

this, i think is the biggest thing, FAllout games were MEANT to end, the series was never mean to be a endless game like the Elder scrolls games were, so there is less focus on long, major questlines to go with the main quest.

I think we all suffer from GOTY syndrome to a point. "Not as much to do as Skyrim! New Vegas was longer!" yeah, are you talking about the vanilla or the GOTY with 5 DLCs included? Cos I remember finishing New Vegas in half the time it took me to finish FO4. Skyrim too. It wasn't until all the DLC (and mods) were added in that I was hitting 200 hour plays on those games

(not saying you ARE comparing a vanilla to a GOTY, but we forget..)

Then I'd say don't worry about those perks then if they add nothing to the gameplay for you. Skyrim was honestly no better in that regard, As you did the grind towards higher skill and perks, you kind of realize that you don't need them much because you are already hacking things to pieces with your OP smithed weapons and armor. Sadly Bethesda's Open world games have always been like this, you just reach a point where nothing is a threat. It's at that point I just go digging for lore and kind of ignore the enemies.
