Nothing gives me greater pleasure than....

I hoard resources. Seriously, the contents of my storage containers is greater than the annual output of the entire Empire. I could arm and armor an army, drown the entire province in potions, feed the world. Plus I have about a thousand (at least) Dwemer dishes, so they wouldn't have to eat off the floor.

It's a shame there isn't anyway to do anything with all of that. Economy, trade, industry, etc. are all just post-its tacked on to the game.

I want to arrange my houses, put gems in bowls and things like that. But I'm worried something will go wrong. Also the weapon racks in riften don't work so I can't display my weapons. :(

I also organize books by subject and put them in appropriate parts of my houses. I also keep several outfits of "civvies," some enchanted, some just because I like them, for doing different things around town. I also sit to read books and eat at locations I like.
My wife doesn't actually play but she loves alchemy. She knows the uses of a lot of the plants already and often stops me on the road and reminds me to pick more of this or that because I'm running low on a particular potion. She also picked the Elven Horse armor for my horse in Oblivion. We don't have a horse in Skyrim because we both find it unfair to endanger their lives unduly.

Haha that's fantastic. She's like a walking skyrim ingredient guide!

Yeah. I love that stuff. I wish it were possible in Skyrim. I miss it.

I also appreciate Bethesda's detail with interactions with world objects. Not many open world games gives you the option to move, pick up, and actually see the full object as it lies.

Witcher 2 had a little bag on the ground, that supposedly held all the invisible loot?? Really, how lazy is that.

Yes the pure amount of interaction with the objects is what sets Bethesda's world building apart from other games. I am playing Deus Ex Human Revolution atm and it feels empty when I go into an office space and only like 2 objects can be interacted (opened, moved, etc.( with, haha.
Well one of my favorite Skyrim moments was using the my deadric greatsword finisher on this guys avatar...quite satisfying.

As an artist, I'll take things that I've hoarded and arrange them about town on in the fields, making installations. Have to start taking pics to post... incistuous, making art out of Bethesda's art.

My girlfriend has been playing and all she really does is jump around, pick flowers, and loves killing elk and foxes (she lives on a farm)

Your GF needs to start picking flowers around the Embassy and point her weapon towards some Thalmor.

Every piece of awesome I find I put on display in Hjerim. And I spend 20 minutes or so just admiring my book collections, my weapon displays, and everything else

I enjoy downloading nvde mods, tailored to my preference, and then downloading as many sixy clothes as possible. I like to try on different combinations of panties, garter belts, bras, skirts, thigh-high boots, gloves, and hairpieces.

First off, THANKYOU, Bethesda!

At this point in time nothing gives me greater pleasure than coming home after a long, hard days work, slinking down into my pjs (which, let's face it, is really only a fancy word for underwear), falling onto my amazing couch...and performing trivial acts around the cities.

I mean, yeah, intensely epic and life changing storylines are great and all...it's just after doing the hokey pokey 6742626717 times in a row (I'm a children's dance teacher) all I kind of really want to do is relax and arrange my potions. *nodnod*

Collecting ingredients, dressing mannequins, arranging my bookshelves - I love it all!

Am I the only one who likes this aspect of the game? Or am I not alone in my love for trivial acts of self satisfaction?

Please, tell me I'm no alone in my love for trivial acts of self satisfaction!

You're not alone at all, i think i spend more time decorating my houses with loot than i actually do fighting. There is something about alchemy i love... even when i play an Orc Warrior i find my self avoiding battle every now and then to pick a few flowers then go home to make some health potions etc.

I've only bought one house so far..I'm just really moving around a lot right now...just acquired a couple of daedric weapons..and just got married. Haven't seen the wife since the ceremony though. Hopefully her and Lydia are getting along. Looking forward to getting a another place besides whiterun though. Need a bigger place to keep my stuff. And a housecarl that doesn't eat me out of house and home.

I was a major alchemist in Oblivion. I do that in Skyrim, but now I'm really into cooking. I only wish there were more salt. I have 99 uncooked salmon steaks (and 149 cooked). I need 99 salt piles!
