Nothing is Tessalated??

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 10:26 am

Yes I know there is quite a few bugs going on. Okay well alot. And trolling :P
Anyway, I didn't install the Texture Pack as I don't have 64bit which Im trying to get, but no point since people are saying there isn't much differance.

Anyway again. I was playing through a couple of levels of the game and I don't seem to see the things that were supposed to be tessalated well.... not tessalated. Like bricks, they were meant to be more out, but mine are still dead flat. Water kinda ripples when I move or throw things, but not much. And yes, I am experiancing heavy FPS loss.

I do have a DX11 card support.
Specs are:
Gigabyte EP43-DS3
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.00ghz
Gigabyte GTS 450
3GB Ram
Windows 7 32 Bit.

I think you also need x64 for DX11 too? not 100% sure tho.

Did you install the DX11 patch (remember it was seperate)
Try enabling it through the game settings again.

The brick walls all use POM which i think is only included with the HD texture pack, which gives the illusion that they are sticking out. i cant think of anything off the top of my head that uses tessilation?

Tessellation is not on everything, but you must have object detail set to ultra in order for it to have any effect. Maybe someone knows the cvar to force it on?

I had Win x64, all set to ultra, DX11 active, High res textures active ---> no tessellation on bricks. Maybe on other things. The frame loss (from 30 to 15) made impossible for me to play with Dx11 active, so I am back to Dx9. The levels are darker, than with Dx9, the ligths are cooler, but not for MP.

I enabled DX11, set object details to ultra and still got no tesselation. Instead, teh game looks the same as before but with heavy fps-loss.....oh yeah, one thing I saw in MP: the lighting in DX11 is better. You can see it in the map Wallstreet, in the spawn-corner with the violet light. Before, the light was just there, now the whole corner is filled with light.....damn, this sentence almost makes no sense...

EDIT: I have Win7 64bit, 6gb RAM and a GTX460

You need 64bit OS. I have not problem with tessellation. Will post pics later on a seperate thread with my system specs. I spent most of the time last night dieing by looking around and how it impacted my FPS.

If you're just looking at multiplayer maps, you won't find much tesselation. I've noticed that the brick walls in Sanctuary have tesselation, but the brick walls in Skyline and City Hall do not.

What the hell did you expect? Tara Strickland with tesselated boobs? I think they did more than enough. It's already tearing down high end systems.

Sorry for the delay.
Okay, I have things running as they should now. High Res Texture and DX11 running smoothly. All good :)
Thanks anyways, did try Ultra settings but turned down Shadows to High and Shaders to Extreme to increase bit of FPS. :)
