Notice To All DLC Owners. Updated.

Post » Fri Jun 22, 2012 4:51 pm

Crysis 2's in game DLC store and the manual download option via gamesas.com has been discontinued. Note the latter was restored yesterday after I requested it be put back.

According to GSI-JGun @ https://secure.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=43056
"The in-game store has been discontinued thus the history is blank". He also states: "Any DLC you previously owned would be automatically downloaded for you the next time you install the game".

However with all do respect I have no idea who GSI-JGun is and how he got this information.
Therefore I would advise all Crysis 2 DLC owners to backup their existing dlc folder in your system if you already have it or download it from gamesas.com while it is still there.

If you already have the DLC zips, find them and back them up. They are named dlcpack1.zip and dlcmaps2_3.zip. To reinstall:

* You need to copy them into your user directory
* On Windows XP PCs this is ..\My Documents\My Games\Crysis2\dlc
* On Windows Vista and later PCs this is ..\Users\<yourusername>\Saved Games\Crysis2\dlc
* Do not attempt to unzip the files, the game client will do this.
* When you next launch and log in the maps should be available in your server browser.

If you are having problems with no FY71, you might try deleting the ..\dlc folder and re-copying the DLC zip(s) to it.

It is hoped that the DLC's will be free for all and it's maps will be included in the normal map cycles.

Just relying on hopes and dreams or has crytek actually said anything along those lines? And have they said anything about why people's Limited edition content is also missing?

@Wreckless: Just our hopes and dreams, unfortunately. Sure would be a good move, unless you REALLY dont want to help the title. ;)

@The4orTy67: Are they still available for sale in console land?

So what about us folks who have bought the DLC? I recently re-installed Crysis 2 and I had bought the first DLC, now its not showing up, am I just screwed out of that DLC now? If so that pisses me off, I paid for that just like I paid for Crysis 2, and now it is looking like I might have had my DLC stolen from me by the very developers? Oh hell no!

I've post below message on fVic clan board also...

Since Crytek removed Crysis 2 DLC packs (Decimation & Retaliation) from in game DLC store my suggestion is also that we could make a petition so Crytek make them download-free for all current Crysis 2 PC players since they aren't geting any money now from selling those DLC's. This could significantly increase a lifespan of Crysis 2 on PC for sure and maybe increase current Crysis 2 community.

Ive been away from this site for a while and havent played Crysis 2 in a while, so any chance yet to be able to get the DLC? Why is crytek having so many issues? And they want us to shell out cash for crysis 3 which may be just as busted or worse than crysis 2?
