Noticed something...

Post » Mon Oct 17, 2011 3:53 pm

Hey there,

I was re-browsing through all the current screenshots in the UESP, and I noticed a building in the background of one. I was unsure of what it is, and after a quick search through these forums, found no one else seemed to notice it (though I'm not good with search, and may be wrong). Or maybe people already know what it is, and it's not a big deal.

Here's the screenshot in question : http://images.uesp.net/0/0e/SR-Dragon_Attack_Prerelease.jpg

In the background (directly beneath the dragon) is an odd building, and I was wondering what it could be? I'm assuming it's some sort of ruin (possibly Dwemer?), but I just want to hear from the community as well. And if this is a repeat thread/already been noted... we can just let this thread blow away in the breeze.

Thanks guys/gals,
~V ^_^

Side notes: If I wasn't supposed to put that picture up for some reason, I'll gladly remove it - just inform me.

It's possible it's Dwemer, but I doubt it.

It's most likely a Dwemer compound, as it resembles the Dwemer architecture of http://images.uesp.net/7/79/SR-img-Markarth01.jpg.

Doubt it's dwemer. Probably a small settlement or the outskirts of a city.

It's dwemer, but it's not typical metallic bronze dwemer architecture. It's more like the architecture that's also used for Markarth.

Yeah no problem.

I can see it possibly being some form of tomb, but I thought Nords used barrows to bury their dead? Or am I mistaken?

Looks Dwemer, but I also noticed there's a dog there too. If you follow the line of the bridge, it's right there. It also looks like some architecture is going into the base of the mountain, but I'm not sure. I like the birds nest as well, and I hope we can snatch the egg inside.

Oh wow, nice eye. I completely missed that dog. Maybe it is the outskirts of a settlement? Possibly designed similar to Markarth, as they have similar designs.

And I thought that was a basket. :P

My vote goes with Dwemer as well, it matches Markarth's style of building very closely.

It also reminds me very strongly of the Dwarven buildings from World of Warcraft. That was the similarity that struck me when I first saw the little... huts, are they? Farm house? Barn? Local Wal-mart?

The style of the buildings does look familiar, I think there was something similar in MW but I can't place it exactly.

Compare http://images.uesp.net/7/79/SR-img-Markarth01.jpg to that http://images.uesp.net/0/0e/SR-Dragon_Attack_Prerelease.jpg.

Look at the doors in the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Oblivion and the http://images.uesp.net/0/0e/SR-Dragon_Attack_Prerelease.jpg. They're identical, which means that those buildings use the same tileset, which means they're both Dwemer.
