Notorgo

Arena had lots of spells and artifacts named after famous mages from the first and second eras, such as Shalidor and Phynaster. It's interesting how such interesting characters such as Mannimarco (yes, he was there too) first originated as generic DnD historical figures but were further developed in later games, serving large roles in their plots.

There's others, though, that have seemingly not been mentioned since. The one I was going to bring up is Notorgo, whose name appeared on various enchanted items in Daggerfall as part of a "Feet of Notorgo" buff that often made your character hilariously fast. Morrowind had spells named after him as well, although given the limited staff size at the time it's possible that they were simply copying over lots of Daggerfall's spells without giving them a second thought. I don't believe he's mentioned in Oblivion, however.

So I was wondering, does anybody have any theories about this Notorgo guy? Or is he doomed to fade into obscurity? The name personally sounds like an alien character from Futurama to me. :whistling:

He was a god; presumably of messengers or speed or traveling or somesuch.
References to him can be found in "King Edward" and http://www.imperial-library.info/content/random-poetry
