http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1234961-elder-scrolls-fans-are-going-to-love-our-next-issue/

The November issue of Game Informer, which should start hitting subscribers in a week, will have a Skyrim feature. Andrew Reiner of GI said that "Elder Scrolls fans are going to love our next issue."

It won't be the review though because Pete said the other day that they've embargoed all of their game reviews meaning the media can't publish them becore launch day. Someone asked him about the RAGE reviews and that's what he said. He said it got "too confusing" with reviews popping up at different dates. So no Skyrim review before 11.11.11, which means they'll start showing up in January issues of magazines. January issues will start hitting at the end of November since they're a month ahead.

Let the speculation continue...

They've embargo'd reviews until launch day? I could be wrong but every time that has happened a game has svcked? Or maybe that's just perception..

Many of you have such little faith and think they're doing this because the game svcks? Really?

Well, by all means skip it until you get your review so someone else can tell you what to play. I'll be murdering dragons

It just ensures that noone gets to release a review early and get a jump start on the other media outlets. It also ensures people won't try to rush through the game and skip content to try and one up everyone and get their review out first. That reason alone makes me happy. I've seen so many reviewers notorious for skipping content and rushing reviews just to get extra traffic to their sites because they have the first review.

A review embargo won't stop this. In fact, I foresee it causing exactly this. Once the embargo is lifted you're going to have a mad rush from EVERY site trying to be the first to get one online and that will lead to MORE instances of these places skipping huge swaths of content just so they can be the first one out after it's lifted.

Apparently people and corporations have failed to learn that you cannot leash the media like this. Good or bad, they always find a way.

No. There won't be a mad rush. People will just upload them at 12am pst. There's nothing mad rushy about that.

Didn't a journalist already give a review before it was taken down or something? He gave Skyrim a 9.5...i think.

Anyway, I think Andrew is in sync with the fanbase. Some stuff might be rehash, but I think we will see something in there we haven't heard about yet.

Clearly on Skyrim, none of us have concerns over the quality given previous history of how good Bethesda is,

Yes. To add on to this, there's nothing stopping IGN or Gamespot or the like writing the review whenever they damn well please, they just can't publish it until after the embargo lifts. But that is not what this discussion is about. I think people are going way off track complaining about a stupid practice that nearly all publishers have.

Yeah, some doom-sayers and forum-complainers said that Bethesda will put Dragons in Skyrim. I mean... Common! Why would they do that?

 It's called speculation. It's what the majority of the forum is about.

I don't get this embargoing of reviews, it does not look good...but I'd never pre-order anything either.

Any developer that insists on an embargo prior to release is doing a disservice to their customers. People should respond by doing an embargo on day-one purchase as a polite way of telling them we don't appreciate it. However, fanb*ys will prevail.

I'll be too busy playing to read reviews after it comes out but I don't really care what reviewers say most of the time anyways. I wish i still got GI though eventhough I'm sure nothing new will be revealed or at least not very much.

Whatever the heck it is, it had better include a screenshot with "PS3" in its label and another with "PC" in its label.

many popular, well known games have done this,I can still remember waiting an searching for reviews of halo reach I believe it was,one of the halos I know that much,
they had all the reviews on embargo,I would not let this worry anyone, reviews are only the person reviewing that titles opinion really, ever notice how some reviews vary greatly between them?
if you are a fan of the elder scrolls and/or Bethesda than it will probably be a day one purchase regardless of what some magazine or site has to say ,period.

I'm subscribed to Game Informer (or at least, I think I am), so I should be getting that in the mail in the next week or two. :)
