(Possibly) The greatest game of all time comes out. I'm at a loss though. Whilst all you are simply taking the day off work and telling your friends to not disturb you, I was just invited to a birthday party. Now usually if I didn't like the person very much I'd skip it, however this is for the girl I'm dating and her bestfriend(so no getting out of it basically).

It's from 5-1(pm-am). I'll be home before midnight(only have a g2 gotta drive 3 others home, can't disobey the law). So should I go knowing that skyrim is in my car waiting for me, or should I skip saying I couldn't get the day off work?

I need your advice guys, this is a life changing decision.

Eh..? If you serisously don't know what to do in that situation, you got something wrong with you. Go to the freaking party, Skyrim is just a [censored] game dude...

Lmao just go to the birthday, if you skip it she'll probably leave you. If you go and miss the first day, that's okay cause it'll be there tomorrow.

If it means that much to your girl, you should go.

Skyrim will still be there when you get back :)

Go to the birthday party, enjoy it fully. Feel good about yourself and play the game the next day.

There's nothing worse than trying to enjoy an open world with guilt sitting on your shoulder dude. Just do the right thing, your gaming experience will benefit from it. I'll be job searching, signing on or starting my new job on that day. It can wait, as long as I know I've got it I'm fine.

Yeah man, it's way more important to go to the party for your girl. Any time you have a choice between something in real life and a game where you don't know which one to choose, choose real life.

Lying is not the best way to build a relationship with someone else. If the birthday party is important to your girl, then go. It's all about priorities.

But on the off chance that's it not important ... "But there is one they fear. In their tongue, he's Dovahkiin - DRAGONBORN! FUS-RO-DAH!1!!!1!11!!11!"

Go to the game, a party is a waste of time and there are a lotta women in the world. Life is short.

Assuming some level of tongue in cheek exists here, but in case not....

You must have some kind of compassion/decency in you, otherwise you'd not be asking the question in the first place. Or even have a girlfriend! In which case I would imagine that were you to skip the party to play, your enjoyment of Skyrim during that period would be lessened by either guilt or the fear of recrimination.

While Skyrim is probably going to consume my life for awhile-- I would not skip out on someone's birthday if they were of any importance to me.

No matter how much I might love a game, its still just a game. I wouldn't put it before the people I care about. :P

Go to the party, and if you play Skyrim on console, bring both to it and play with your friends.

Best excuse to do so...and it's a win-win :)

Forget Skyrim that night. I know it will be in your every thought that night, but it will still be at your local game store first thing in the morning

Dump your girlfriend, no point dragging out a relationship that obviously means that little to you.

Then play Skyrim for as long as you want.
