@Skemba

Thats fine. I'm not stuck on the way CoD has gone myself, but I thought you where one of those people who hates it for internet cool points. My bad.
It is VERY hard to get a tomahawk kill from across the map. It's pure luck. I randomly throw it all the time and I have not got one single kill on my friends/bots.

That's all I'm going to say, but yeah Bethesda should really release new information soon because I'm sitting in a Elder Scrolls thread talking about Black Ops.
Also these type of threads only usually crop up near release. Bethesda are too secretive about a product they should be trying to sell to us.

You wouldn't walk into a store and not see any offers to entice you into buy something, would you? Same principle.

If there is a midnight launch for Skyrim I will be waiting in line for a week. Screw school, I have some dragons to kill.

I'm creating a schedule next semester so that I don't have to worry about school the next day. :P

Shouldn't be a midnight sale, but a sale that starts at 11:11:11 either GMT or per country timezone :) If you get if before, the game should refuse to start until this hour. Not operating from a computer clock, but an official online clock which bans all known proxies. Too much? :D

If it does use steam like it's been rumored, then you can't play till 12am PST on pc no matter what, so it's kind the same.

It will be the end of an era, as a new one begins...FOR VIDEO GAMES!!!!!! I think this game really seems ahead of its time (a very good thing). I have that gut feeling that this game will change everything for video games, and I mean most video games, not just RPGs. As far as graphics, realism, combat etc. I am dying to play this game, as are about the 100% rest of you guys, and the very second you move your character will be so epic and send shivers down your spine. Anyway this thread is for everyone to say how excited you are about this game and how you'll feel and what you'll think the first few seconds of gameplay.

Also about the topic title, who will be outside GameStop stores at this time anxiously waiting to run in and get this epic? I know I will be. That is if GameStop will have a midnight opening for this game. I wouldn't doubt it.

I'm very excited about this game (the most excited I've ever been in fact), BUT, you are setting yourself up for disappointment my friend. Don't over-hype it. Its going to be a great game. Revolutionary? Probably not.

Midnight releases. HA.

I'll be asleep in my comfy bed, as I'll be ordering mine online, so that it arrives by courier the morning of release.

We're going to have to see.
There's more than just graphics to show how great the engine is. It's much harder to make a proper engine for an open ended RPG than it is for a shooter like Crysis.

However, while graphics are still improving, they're slowing down. So it will not be as revolutionary as Oblivion was, most likely.

When Oblivion came out, I felt like it was a milestone for gaming, and I would have probably felt the same about previous TES titles, but I started playing Morrowind maybe a year or possibly two after it came out. Skyrim will be a milestone for me, when I think back later on it when the next TES comes out after Skyrim, I'll remember it. For example, bought Halo 3, waited in line for that, I remember it vaguely. Bought Black Ops, remember that vaguely. I remember buying Oblivion, pleading to get it the night before from Gamestop (And getting loldenied), then going right as they opened that Tuesday at 10 AM, going home, and looking at all I got. Watching the Behind-the-Scenes dvd, flipping the coin a few times, and finlly, Collector's Edition excitement sated, I played Oblivion. AND LOVED IT.

When I go get Skyrim, I'll be excited. I'll see if I could offer an amount of money that will get me the game beforehand, might get me in trouble, worth a shot. *if* they have a midnight release, though in this town I doubt it, I'll be there and waiting. My MMO subscriptions will be cancelled, and next year's activities will always include and revolve around Skyrim.

I dream about the awesomeness of casting Fire spells, burning my enemies, beating the main quest and the Mage quests, and teabagging a dragon when Skyrim comes out. :flamethrower:

I just received word that the world does not end in december 2012, it was actually a misprint that was translated incorrectly. The new last-day-of-earth has been allocated to November 10, 2011. Sorry, get your soul and/or other things prepared now while you still can!

The way it works here is you pre-order it and you have a reserve copy at the store.

It works that way here too, I'm just ordering it online, because that way it comes to me instead of the other way around, and it's also cheaper. :D

It depends on if two of my buddies want to go to the midnight release. If so, I'll go with them. If not I have no problem with just going to pick it up in the morning :)

While I won't play the game till its been out for a few weeks-1 month, I share your excitment for the game. I am going to request 2 extra days off from work for more play time when it comes out. 3 days of at least 8-10 hours of Skyrim play each day, awesomeness.

I'm also preparing two weeks off from work, since it's unpaid October will be work-[censored]-off-to-signifigantly-offset-financial-loss, or WAOTSOFL, month. Through clever convincing of co-workers to take off and let me fill in for them at work, and preannouncement of said vacation, I should be able to take off with them returning early November to fill in my days as we agreed, for a total of two weeks. Even if I couldn't get the whole two weeks, one will be taken off regardless.

Some might think this is a little too much in terms of preparation, but I need practice. I'll have to think two-steps ahead of my enemies and prepare my Fire spells in both hands!

We never have midnight releases for anything round my way. If there was one I'd go because it sounds like fun. I know someone on here who lives near me (we even went to the same college at the same time, though we never met), so I might actually meet someone from the forums.

By that time I will have played Skyrim for a full 23 hours and 59 minutes non-stop. It's good to get games before others, I sure hope I'll get it with Skyrim too. Possibly not if there is a collectors edition though ;)

Ehh... it's not really ahead of its time at all... It's more like 'finally goddam caught up with it's time.' NV and Fo3 were WAY behind their time in graphics and game engine. Skyrim is just finally up to par with the best. Now don't get me wrong, it's up top with the best games (engine wise, etc) but I wouldn't go so far as to say 'ahead of it's time'.

I'm sure Skyrim will be much more groundbreaking than Fallout, fallout 3 was good but it was still oblivion with guns, FNV was nothing more than a big expansion technically.

I don't know if it will revolutionize the Gaming Industry, but It'll definitely be great like the previous games. I'm hoping it will be better than the previous games in the series, and from what I've learned so far about, I don't think I'll be terribly disappointed.

New era? HA, its still based of this generations system requirements, its good to see a new game and there are obviously updates sure, but it's hardly looking like a huge leap forward, in terms of the difference between generations of games. at 11:59 though I will be sleeping, I'll pick it up probably in a day or two after release.
