Now Excepting Bribes.......I Mean Requests From Guilds.

Post » Thu Mar 27, 2014 6:10 am

I have seen a lot of threads advertising guilds and frankly they all basically promise the same thing......absolutely nothing that does me any good. Mature gamers, fun to hang around, relaxed or hardcoe etc. etc. etc. All this doesn't do diddly for getting me my purple gear by level 12.

For the first time in a long time I am planning on joining a guild. Normally I avoid them but the PVP looks so tempting that I will just have to succumb. So what is your guild willing to give me in order to get me to enhance their very existence by my mere presence? Things to consider are of course gold, custom weapons and gear as I really don't plan on crafting much outside of enchanting or something I would really like is my own personal cohort of fellow guild member that will do nothing but follow me around and keep the common rabble away from me. Four should be enough except for maybe weekends where I might need six or eight personal bodyguards.

If anyone else is looking for a guild this is a great thread to also put your name out there so that you too can get some offers.

And its supposed to be accepting but I can't change my title for some reason.

While i support you looking for a guild, i dont understand why you feel entitled to something.

Don't judge prematurely.. we have a new game, with new societies starting.. we could start a different outlook on this... me kinda likes the idea of guilds auditioning for us instead of the vice-versa.

We could make it the norm if we have higher standards instead of them! lol..

Fortune favors the bold. Hemingway didn't sit around and wait for the world to come to him he ran out and grabbed it himself. I am not necessarily singling myself out of course. I expect that any guild that would offer me personal bodyguards would do the same for other valued members of that guild as well and in fact as long as that person was fighting I wouldn't mind being a bodyguard myself. Think of it like a commando team or something.

That's ok I am pretty sure that I still have that bottomless bucket of water I used to put out the fires in Daggerfall. :P

I don't know why people want guilds for PVP, I didn't join one in the beta and I had lots of fun with plenty of backup. In combat it doesn't matter who's from what guild, we're all fighting the same battle, the person next to you is often more valuable than a guild that might be somewhere else.

I'm not saying guilds in PVP won't be great. Just saying that you don't need a guild to have fun in Cyrodiil, there are plenty of gaps to be filled by single players.

Prove yourself in battle, make a name for yourself in your faction, then the bribes will follow.

SInce you need large groups to take over castles and settlements I assume that there has to be some form of organization unless it literally does boil down to just following the neares zerg which would actually be kind of disappointing. I am hoping that over time there will be some sort of command structure with the brainy math wiz figuring out what the most efficient means of deploying troops is to the best PVPers forming elite special forces teams to grunts like myself who would just do whatever was needed at the time.

Perhaps, but Hemingway also understood the difference between "excepting" and "accepting."

It appears your only reason for joining a guild is to get some purple gear, this to me means your just a leech with no intent on becomming a member of that guilds community.

Very cool idea, but thats catering to people who think they're better than everyone else, and the game hasnt even come out yet. Now if this guy was an elite pvp player or something of the sorts, id sign up to protect him/her possibly. (would do that for the emporer.) Maybe a guild would get them in maybe on a higher rank with more privlages, or something of that nature.

but to simply feel entitled because you think your elite, well doesnt really work.

Initially I was actually kind of joking about that but now that I think about it would be pretty cool if you had a higher "rank" in a guild that you could get some guild members (noobies) to follow you around and be your own little personal army of sorts. The relationship would be symbiotic because the new guild members I would assume would level up a little faster since the "officer" would be very efficient and killing the enemy players and they learn the ropes at the same time. Basically like boot camp for new guild recruits. I haven't played in a guild since Fallen Earth and even that was mostly just because someone I knew was in it and wanted me to join so if they already do this stuff then I am looking forward to it.
