Now for Something Completely Different

I want to spice up my roleplaying in Skyrim. Really this thread was inspired by this one after I watched the videos: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1296739-very-disturbing-video-of-a-skyrim-killer/

I thought this is what I need to do is spice up my Skyrim livelihood. Not exactly in the video. But I think my character needs a home. I think he needs something more to further his questing and role in Skyrim. This is my background so far for him:

I run a character named Deimos a druid necro mage. His eyes were sewn shut for "Seeing to much" a "Prophet of Times". Look at my avatar that was my reference image. He's Breton.

"I do not collect religion nor do I utter it's words. I am a prophet of time and history."

He was raised by the classic old ladies of the forest, the hag witches. She taught him everything he has known about magic. They were nomadic dotting across the many lands of the world of the TES series. Collectors of knowledge and profound speakers of history. Like druidic scholars collecting pieces of the ancient realms. Deimos at one point in time when through the test of manhood. Given to him by the eldest tree [not that trees talk, but his mother figure the old woman lived in tree. tree houses] he was set out on his own.

When this happened he witnessed the corruption of a powerful man, the murder of innocent whom crossed him. All though Deimos had taken an oath of silence and is more chaotic neutral this corrupted individual punished Deimos, but sewing his eyes shut for "seeing to much".

"He believed it a punishment so divine that I would fear to not speak again. What he had failed to realize was that I never had spoken before? So, why should I start? Because everyone knew there were corrupted individuals. Everyone knew. Yet they didn't speak. If one is not afraid of the punishment given, doesn't that make punishment useless? Doesn't it make the punishment not fit the "crime"? I fear no punishment. Instead what was to bind me, cripple me. Only made me better. It made feel and hear the world in a different way."

Of course mother hag witch of the forest was none to happy about this and acted a sworn amount of vengeance on the man whom had harmed her child. As they continued their travels, as he got older himself it was clear that the woman was getting old as well. Age was beginning to slow her down. But she continued further and further with him. His duties were always clear. Collectors of knowledge and magic. It's actually how he came across the shouts. Sources of great and ancient magic, which he has learned to spin.

Before he was in Skyrim, he and the old woman were to make their way there she died due to old age. She asked him to continue the journey. To collect all finds of knowledge. She was buried and he continued his way. Wen he entered the border of Skyrim he was captured in the frenzy of Ulfric Stormcloak. Captured and in a foreigners land, when freed he went onto his usual duties. Collect newfound knowledge about this strange land to honor the woman whom had raised him and taught him all that he knew.

I also have a theme song that inspired the story:

And another song I'd use for him:

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Any ideas on what I should do to spice up my Skyrim game? [I just need ideas to help get my creativity flowing]

Also on a side not, my brother seems to think Deimos isn't a Breton and that Deimos shouldn't be Breton. -.- Look at my avatar that's the reference I imaged to make him in Skyrim. And he looks Breton.

A better one than what he has.

edit-

I fixed it I realized I picked something for Atronauch that I don't need because he is a druid necromancer:

Great story, I love when people write some good background information on their characters, I attempted but failed.

You actually gave me a great idea for my next character, thanks!

Well your character cannot see, I assume you try to play as if your character is blind? I would say use unrelenting force as kind of a radar. Maybe your character tries to talk to the hags of skyrim, but of course he finds them to be hostile. How will he deal with this? Also I love that you gave your character such a background. I'm playing as a redguard woman and when in one quest when they are looking for a redguard woman I imagine they are looking for me.

Oh that's pretty neat. And yeah Fus Roh Dah could be some sort of sonar. Yes, I do try my best to play as if my character was actually blind.

I actually use Aura Whisper for Deimos, I thought it more fitting for a Druid to "sense aura".

Maybe have a companion who of course acts as a guide. Or of course you could get a seeing eye dog. Also if your character doesn't speak, how do they communicate? I don't know if you're doing any quest, but maybe you could look up ones that help hags or stop corruption. I would recommend doing the drinking contest quest.

Well he's spoken more than he usually would normally because he's lost without. I actually am going to get him a companion. I actually wrote this scene out in the very first scene, as the dragon attacks Helgens:

"There is animal shrieking and ear piercing human screams. Everything is dazzling and sparkling. Things are splattering and then people thrust me into the heat of a moment that I do not fully comprehend. Everything is happening beyond my comprehension and I usually am not this thick. But here I find myself a newfound baby thrust into a situation that I cannot fully control. They are speaking of dragons now. A dragon. Ones of the tales once told by the mother in the wilds told to me. Now I am forest born, brought into what feels like wood and stone. The heat of fires blazes across my skin as people's voices go this way and that way. They tell me to run, they tell me to follow them. But I am lost without. I am no longer sure were I am running and all I can think is safety. I make my way into "shelter" only to find more words spoken, things I do not understand. Imperials and Stormcloaks. The steel of a sword cuts my flesh. I am asked to fight. For what? Fight? Why are we fighting? All I know now is to survive whatever that is animal inside me burst into a heat, I can hear the crackling of the fire within my finger tips. I sense it more than I feel it. Then the battle ends I'm forced to run again. My lungs burn hot like coal, I am no longer sure if we are in danger or if we are fleeing. This is an old store room, he says this man. He tells me to find potions. Potions, I understand potions. I have worked my childhood with potions. All I do is place a gentle hand to find these things he ask. Why am I getting these? Will there be more fighting? Why? Shouldn't we be fleeing? I'm not sure I understand any more as my lungs burn of sparks, I'm out of breath. Even I the wildest of children of the forest do not understand this running nor understand this battle of a foreign land."

-----------------------------------------

I doubt Deimos even understands the stormcloak or imperial war. He understands it somewhat. As he is beginning to piece it through as he passes through the towns. But being born to a nomadic witch hag, would mean he doesn't have a full grasp on the whole situation.

He's naive like a child sometimes. But intelligent in the ways that others do not understand. He could translates songs of the ancients with ease. But to understand the footing of political intrigue or social curiosity is lost on him.

Can you live in the Alchemist Shack? I always wander that. I think it would make sense for Deimos. Though the wild bear or wild cat may be a nuisance. I'm also going to try and not fast travel.

No such thing here I would hope. You can live anywhere you want. The game won't consider it official, but who cares? I remember when I found that shack, I felt sorry for the Alchemist. Such a beautiful house. Also fast traveling is for people who don't take the time to smell the roses.
