Now that we know we can only have ONE companion...

Will you mainly use a humanoid or a animal companion? I will most likely use a dog my first playthrough since my character will be a mercenary with his hunting dog. My mage will use a warrior though.

When I found out about the 1 companion rule, it crushed all my hopes and dreams and shattered my perception of reality.

I don't know. I gotta see if I can get a Wolf or some other beast.

I'll start with a dog companion, because my character will be a kinda lone cowboy in the beginning. Then she'll get around and start socializing.

I usually go solo, but if I can find a big menacing dog I might use it.

You should make this a poll, OP :D

I would choose a dog over human

I just can't stand it when companions die. I rarely take them on because I am always compelled to keep them alive, which becomes quite difficult. They also tend to make stealth attacks impossible, so I'll probably be a lone wolf for the most part.

The only companion I see myself having around regularly would be a dog.

I might use a dog if I find an essential one. I don't wanna have to get another the next day after it dies by The Nine knows what.

Is this one companion rule like Fallout 3s one companion rule where you ended up being allowed one companion and dog meat?

nevermind. I guess I'll take a human

Dogmeat was my favorite companion in Fallout 3 and I'm expecting the same scenario in Skyrim. It's just that kind of "http://milestonefilms.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/2007_i_am_legend_008.jpg" theme I like.

are non-humaniod companions going to be varied? Or are we just getting a dog? (or a very limited amt of choices we can choose from)

All depends on what the marriage feature is like. My preferred primary companion would be animal but if marriage is interesting I'll have to try and mod to allow two companions.

I find companions tedious - so I don't think I'm going to even recruit one.

Now that we know we can only have ONE companion...a lot of modders know what kind of mod they'll be making on day one! :teehee:

Now that we know we can only have one companion, that means I'll only be denying one person at a time who wants to follow me around. I hate companions.... All they do is slow me down.

Humanoid companion for certain. I'm not an animal lover.

depends on if they can carry the same amount. Companions are little more than pack animals that have to wait outside anyway. Maybe in 20 years a game might have the AI necessary for an NPC to actually be useful as an actual companion
