Now that we've seen Khajiits and Orcs...who...

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 6:55 am

This. Right now, I've a Khajiit on my desktop, but as soon as I see anything http://www.arild-hauge.com/arild-hauge/peter-nicolai-arbo-ingeborg.jpg, and it's bye, bye kitty-cat.

My main has always, and will continue to be, a Redguard in each new TES installment. That being said, I never had an interest in orcs or khajiits, or even argonians because of how utterly silly and poorly modeled they were in previous installments. But now, I could actually see myself trying out some of the other races as they are actually quite appealing now, and not just goofy-looking creatures.

Bird of prey beast race - confirmed!

LOL.

But have you paid attention to the vids? Birds are in, with flight and everything. So I've been toying around in the back of my mind - and we can only wait to see the game before we can see how realistic this is - with making a raven/falconry mod?

Not completely unrealistic since Command Creature is known spell in the TES system. How completely awesome would it be to have a falcon companion? Me, my trusty wolfhound, a powerful falcon . . . AND A SPEAR!!!!

(And no, I'm not suggesting this will be in the released game).

...if never played as either one in previous games, will play one now? I'll be straight up honest I never played Morrowind but I'm sure it's fun from what I've heard on these forums. But anyway I never played as an Orc in OB but I have played as a Khajiit, only once though but I couldn't really get into it. I'll tell you guys something though...with the advancements Bethesda has made to Orcs and Khajiits, I can assure you I will be playing as both this time around. I mean come on, they're both completely bad-ass and not some action figures like they were in OB.

I can't wait to hear how they sound, especially now that they'll have their own distinct voices. It'd be great if orcs sound like an orc from LoTR...forget what his name is...but anyway, discuss.

Never played either in any previous TES game and now I can't wait to play the badass blind Orc with a frohawk.

the khajit looks really cool as well - can't wait to see the revamped Argonians, Dunmer Bosmer and Altmer.

I'm sure it will be fun to play any race in Skyrim.

I was thinking to make a breton battlemage for my first character but then I saw that orc... what a bad ass looking orc! Can't wait to see argonians and I hope bretons will look more elegant and have pointy ears.

I'll wait to see the race traits but as far as looks goes, orc wins so far

Never played either and probably won't now, but they are decided improvements. Can't wait to see the Dunmer, hope they're as awesome as Morrowind Dunmer. :D

That'd be awesome, but I wonder if Skyrim's birds are actually full creature objects with full animation sets - it's possible they're more of a visual effect, and never actually interact directly with actors (or the ground). Considering how sophisticated the dragon AI seems to be, though, it's certainly not beyond the realms of possibility.

Creature companions in general (incl. the acquisition of eggs, rearing, etc, depending on how much detail the modder wanted to implement) are a really nice idea in any case. They seem especially appropriate in Skyrim's landscape, for some reason. :)

good :) i really hope they make the bosmer just a little bit more serious this time around (still would like them to be rather informal compared to the other elves though)

Orsimer look cool but I'd never play one.

Khajiit I never cared about, but this guy might change my mind. After I play as a Dunmer, I might give Khajiit a whirl.

I'm actually pretty excited for all the races, including the Bosmer. I mean, that Khajiit looks really, really serious.

Nords, Bretons, and Dunmer are how I usually role, and if I go beast I usually go Argonian... However, the new Khajiits and Orcs look feakin' tight! I still don't see myself playing an Orc as more than a whim, but I'll definitely take the Khajiit more seriously!

I've always played a Nord. Now that I'm gonna be home, there's no way I can change that.

I will play as a Khajiit if I can look like a Snow Leopard or Snow Tiger.

I will probably still not play as an Orc, they're always seen as ugly and the Bezerk bonus has not been fun enough to create a compelling game style.

Im an Altmer to the bone but this time around I will probably try Argonian sometime. At least once.
Ive always had a soft spot for them and they do look very cool now.

Probably still won't play as an Orc or khajiit but at least they'll look good. I want to see some elves though, hopefully dunmer aren't just tall smurfs this time.

The khajiit's fur seems low res. Perhaps it's an optimization.

I dont know what not having played Morrowind has anything to do with this...

But I felt the same way. I think I'll make a serious Khajiit character this time around.

The only race I haven't had playthrough on is the Bosmer. If they're still fat, annoying, beardless dwarves :flame:....... That being said, the Khajihts and Orcs are definitely looking better and I'll enjoy playing them more.
