Now that we've seen Khajiits and Orcs...who...

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 6:47 am

...if never played as either one in previous games, will play one now? I'll be straight up honest I never played Morrowind but I'm sure it's fun from what I've heard on these forums. But anyway I never played as an Orc in OB but I have played as a Khajiit, only once though but I couldn't really get into it. I'll tell you guys something though...with the advancements Bethesda has made to Orcs and Khajiits, I can assure you I will be playing as both this time around. I mean come on, they're both completely bad-ass and not some action figures like they were in OB.

I can't wait to hear how they sound, especially now that they'll have their own distinct voices. It'd be great if orcs sound like an orc from LoTR...forget what his name is...but anyway, discuss.

Probably not me as I like to go melee + magic, and Bretons were always the best for that, though with the way the new system is set up I can increase magicka directly and a Dunmer spellsword might be more viable. But I'm waiting on all the other races. If Argonians look cool enough I just might leave the Dunmer in the dust and be a fire-spewing sword-wielding lizard-fish instead.

Nah. I'll probably play Dark Elf (if they are as cool as they were in Morrowind) or Imperial or Nord or Breton :P

I've played an Orc twice and I haven't touched Khajitt's in Oblivion. I'm probably going to do a Stealth Thief Type Khajitt who is deadly with a Bow at some point if I can get myself away from the Imperial/Bretons.

Oh yeah definitely...Dark Elves all the way!! I'll probably play as one as my second character but definitely a Nord, Orc and a Khajiit as well.

I played an orc once and hated it, but I might give these new Skyrim orcs a try. Of course, my first two characters will still be Bosmer and Khajiit, because they've always been my favorite. ^_^

My starter will still be a Nord, which is already a departure for me as I usually go Dunmer (waiting to get a better look at how different elven races look now), but I'll definitely be temped to give the beast races a try (can't wait to see some Argonians!). Orcs I don't know about, since they seem best for straight-up melee and I seldom play that way (granted, any race can excel at anything given a little time).

To be fair, if the two characters shown had been, say, Argonian and Reguard we'd probably be saying the same things about them.

The point being that I'm super-confident that ALL of the races are going to be awesome in their own distinctive way. It just so happens that we have seen the Khajiit and Orc first up.

That said, I've never really played as a Khajiit or an Orc, but I'm going to be giving them a try this time around just based on the screenshots. So if the point of releasing those screen shots was get me excited for playing those races, then Bethesda did a great job....

I'll definitely make Khajiit and Orc alts after seeing those screens. I only played Khajiit briefly in Morrowind (and that was with the Better Beasts mod) - they looked silly in Oblivion. And Orcs never looked brutal or bestial enough to keep me interested in a character in either game.

Having said that, it'll be somewhat moot if Skyrim's Argonians and Dunmer (and the rest of the races) look as good as we can expect. Because I'll want to roll at least one of everything.

Not really touched Khajiits and they still don't interest me. Just not my cup of tea.

Orcs on the other hand. I exclusively play as them (limited time so limited characters). These new ones look awesome. Definitely psyched to get one in a hood and go Spellsword on some dumb elves and humans who think all Orcs are mindless brutes.

Traditionally, I start my first ES playthrough with a Khajiit. So I'll be doing that this time, too. I couldn't play as a Khajiit for long in OB, though, because they just looked ridiculous. Luckily, they seem to look amazing this time around. As for the Orc, I'll definitely play one as well. The one in the screenshot looks serious and very powerful, just as Orcs should. They always seemed kind of comical.
Hell, this might actually be the first ES game that makes me want to try all the races.

I'm Argonian at heart, but Khajiit might be an option too. Orcs not really, I don't like them as a race but I'm happy they are improved because even though I'm not one, I still have to deal with them and I prefer Skyrim's orc 100xtimes than the ones in Oblivion.

I can never really get into playing Khajiit characters. I will make one though, if only to hear what the Dragon Shouts sound like.

I enjoy playing Orc characters, and I was already planning on making one before I knew what they looked like.

In Oblivion the only race that I never played as was Imperial. There are others I have played once but wasn't satisfied with the character build so wound up abandoning that character only to never use that race again (Redguard, Wood Elf). I played as an Orc once and really enjoyed it...aside from their hideous appearance in Oblivion. If the screenshots I've seen so far are any indication of what the Orcs and Khajiits will be like, I just might have to try them out again.

The most fun I ever had with one of my builds was with my Khajiit character; A thief and an assassin. I think I put in almost 200 hours onto that one.

Most of the time was spent either as a Nord or a Breton. Ahhh, fun times in Tamriel.

I found it kind of amusing all of the hype over these new photos. "Well I wasn't going to create an Orc/Khajiit until I saw the pics" .... etc etc.

While they are undeniably better looking than their previous versions, we have yet to see most of the races, so all of this excitement over those 2 seems..... premature. In fact my assumption (my hope) is that every race will look much better than their Oblivion counterpart.

Anyways, I'll be starting as a Nord regardless. No, not because it's Skyrim. My first character in TES games has always been a Nord Warrior. (since MW)

Dunmer and Khajiit for me. Prolly Dunmer first, because they were always my choice of race in OB and MW. But Khajiit I will play as in memory of my cat.

Orcs are awesome and they luck much better than in Oblivion ... Khajiits are awesome too!
But I never play an evil character in RPGs ... I just can't be evil ... I feel like in real world, and like those are real people, and I can't just kill them ... There is no reason for me to kill them and I don't want to be hated ... I play neutral characters like thieves, hunters, traders, etc ... or good characters. So maybe I will play an Khajiit if we can choose white fur. But won't play orc, it looks too evil :)

I played a Khajit stealth-marksman type character in OB, and played a Khajit light armor/longsword character in Morrowind. And if I play Skyrim (which I might not depending on if/if not there is dismemberment in SR) I will most certainly play a Khajit.

This. Right now, I've a Khajiit on my desktop, but as soon as I see anything http://www.arild-hauge.com/arild-hauge/peter-nicolai-arbo-ingeborg.jpg, and it's bye, bye kitty-cat.

Never seriously played as either (not sure I've even ever made a khajiit character but if I did it lasted 20 minutes tops), but will definitely make a khajiit thief/assassin and maybe an orc warrior in Skyrim.
