Now that Skyrim has sold really well...

I think it's time to discuss Bethesda making a Fallout: Canada. Canada has all of the natural environments and more of Skyrim, has some really cool landmarks that you could visit.

Now you wouldn't have to make all of Canada, just some of the major cities, a lot of wilderness between them and it would work beautifully. Now if I've read my Fallout lore correctly most of Canada survived the initial nuclear war because it was too important to both sides. There is a lot of potential for a great exploration game with some genuinely unique Canadian humour thrown in. The game would have a much more inclusive and comprehensive survival mode that Fallout: New Vegas introduced.

Some features I think that would make Fallout Canada unique from other fallout games while still holding true to the series:

-Weather effects (I'm talking out and out seasonal changes here that change the way you play the game. You are in the great prairies. In summer time prepare for some blistering heat, flash rains, and even high winds knocking your visibility down to nothing as you cross the vast plain. Oh and mutant buffalo. In Winter this changes completely. Where once you were able to travel pretty much willy nilly now you have to contend with gigantic snow drifts, the cold, and blizzards. Oh and mutant polar bears. Yeah temperature changes would be added to a survival mode. If you don't dress for the weather then you are going to find your temp meter depleting rather quickly...)
-Vehicles (They can use this as a platform to finally introduce vehicles and mounts [moose/horses] into the game...if only so you can experience your vehicle stalling in a Canadian winter.)
-Different languages (The French/English part of Canada is a pretty big part of the culture. It would be interesting to have different languages that your character could learn so that he/she could get along with different factions. This could also be a way for Bethesda to gauge reactions for Fallout: Asia)

I think it would be a great idea and a great addition to the Fallout franchise. Fallout has primarily explored different aspects of America but that's quickly getting old and stale. Why not try branching out into a different country in your future game? Canada is a great way to do this without alienating crowds by going TOO far away.

Thanks for your time.

I think the timing of Skyrim is an argument against a similar terrain in the next fallout title.

Fallout 4 will rightly or wrongly face exactly the same comparisons with Skyrim that FO3 faced with Oblivion. As such having a similar terrain style will invite more unwelcome comparisons.

Thats not to say that there arent some good ideas here...

How about Fallout 4 being set near the Panama Canol? (There having been no transition of control to Panama.)

*Maybe add in the Gehenna, (and trogs, Molechs, Radtoads, and Hag snakes ).

**How about there having been a complete annex of Panama?

You read you're lore wrong. Canada was destroyed just like every other nation on earth. The Great War wasn't something that could be won. Everyone knew that. It was MAD: Mutual Assured Destruction. It lasted 2 hours and in that time the world was reduced to radioactive cinders.

America started taking over Canada in 2067 after China invaded Alaska in 2066 and Canada did not let America through its land or airspace. America plundered alot of resources from Canada before finally just out right annexing it in 2077. From Fallout's intro we see a Canadian being killed American Power Armoured units in a destroyed city. So this to me means many Canadian cities were already badly damaged by America before the Great War.

From Randell Clark, who was stationed in Toronto Canada before the Great War or at least got his rifel from there, which could mean American wa using Canadian armouries to supply its armed forces in Canada. tells us in his notes. "Canada wasn't scary, just sickening, the criminality of it." This also hows that things in Canada were not that great.

Anyways back to the point.. Canada was destroyed. What litle resources remained in Canada would have made very important targets. Canadian Cities are now American cities and would also be targest.

The whole world was destroyed.

I don't think Fallout is ever going to return to the map node system like Fallout, Flalout 2 and Tactics, were as entire states could be covered, with many cities. Fallout from now on will most likely be one large city as the focus and smaller towns and settlements crammed in close to it. Other cities added by DLC.

I have to agree with that assumption. :( (What an awful loss IMO.)
