Ok ok so we all know about the irritating bug where companions disappear for no reason and all you have to do to remedy this is fast travel or re-load an area and said companion re-appears.

Ahhhh well I seem to have a bit of a problem, my said companion, Jordis, is refusing to reappear! I'm on the Xbox and I have tried everything from carriage travelling, fast travelling, re-load.. etc. but nothing is working. Btw Jordis has not died nor have I dismissed her and she is not waiting for me in Proudmanor home, she just disappeared. What's even more annoying is when I go to Breezehome to use Lydia instead, Lydia tells me that I already have a companion. Aghhhhh

As much as I love these bugs and glitches *not* it's really starting to piss me off. Anyone out there know how to bring Jordis back for Xbox?

I found that if you run through enemies and leave your companion behind fighting them,they sometimes die, especially if you load into another area.

I lost J'zargo when I ran through a Dwemer ruin because I didn't feel like fighting D:


And if they're strong enough not to die they just stay in that cell fighting that enemy forever until you come rescue them, so that may be your problem?

Previous load, from earlier doesn't work?
Anyhow the level of the companion is determined by your level when you received them. If you got Lydia first her level is likely low. In this section I cant tell you which other houses there are but if you buy them and get a new housecarl awarded it may reset the one you lost.

Did you tell her to "wait there" and forget about her? If not just load a previous save.

No I wasn't in combat. It was peace-time, Jordis was with me, then I used a carriage at Solitude to return to Whiterun and when I stepped thru the city gates at whiterun she was gone. Unfortunately I hadn't saved before so I am at a loss.

NPCs wether regular follower or Dead thralls are more than a bit dodgy in thier keeping up with one.
Would be nice having a spell to summon them to ya added when they joined, removed when they are dismissed.
A spell, not a power. In the absence of Mysticism, place it under alteration as it changes what is, their location.

Have you tried resting? It's one of the ways to bring back a missing companion. If it doesn't work either, loading a previous save might be the only solution.

and she hasnt died as we didnt have a battle. and if she was dead then i should still be able to hire other companions but it says that i 'already have a follower'

You were in the wilderness, right?

Companions are known for running off to fight enemies around you at random, maybe she found a wolf and ran off to fight it just before you boarded the carriage?
