NPC: Continuous conversation - How?

Post » Fri Jan 03, 2014 3:07 pm

In game I've noticed (haven't been in game for a LONG time) that when a NPC finishes a "block" of conversation the next block appears seamlessly, whereas the dialogue I make in CK when it becomes too long for one block of dialogue the player has to click the "..." to get the next block of dialogue. How can I achieve the seamless conversation without the player having to click "..."?

Thanks guys.

Hi, I did this too,

Once you have put in your first response and clicked ok, on the window where you can set the conditions there is a smaller window along the top with your response in it. right click anywhere in this box and you can select new, this puts in a new line in the current topic.

I can't post links, but in the Bethesda Creation kit tutorial for Dialogue, scroll down to the image for Topic Infos. In the area that is labelled response text you can right click and select "new" this will add another line of response to your topic. I have no idea if there is a limit on how many reponses you can add though. Without links I'm not sure I've explained it properly.

Look at your dialogue in the dialogue view (Or you can find this option in the 'Player Dialogue' window as well for the old-fashioned types) and right click the connection to your next branch, then say 'Make Invisible Continue'. The line should turn green. This dialogue option now starts without a player input, making it appear to seamlessly (or Invisibly) continue.
