NPC Face mods?

Post » Fri Mar 04, 2011 1:58 am

I'm just getting back into Oblivion and installed some great mods, but I can't find any that redo NPC faces. Surely they exist right? Can anyone link me to a great one?

Yes. The big one is TNR. There is a (IMHO) better version of TNR included with Cobl. It replaces the hair and eyes of NPC's as well. The regular TNR just redoes the facial sliders.

There is also Better Redguards. I highkly recommend that one. It really improves the look of Redguards.

Out of curiosity, what file are you using?

Personally, I prefer the Race Balancing Project. It has an optional "TNR Merge" (so, TNR, but with RBP changes incorporated as well), and optional Better Redguards compatibility as well. I use both. :)

Just another option. Similar to Cobl Races, but... more.

This is a stretch for the lore lovers out there.

The nearly completed http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://ryou44.blog111.fc2.com/&prev=/search%3Fq%3DtiksLIVION%26hl%3Den%26prmd%3Divns&rurl=translate.google.com&usg=ALkJrhgmSH7WoJo7JhSK-cNE2bG-8vsM9Q

Quite a bit more involved to make it all work and look good, but Xeo5 is the original and XeoSP is updated version of Xeo5. RC1, RC2, RC3 and RC4 are additions to XeoSP.

You have to like anime more or less to enjoy the look of the NPCs otherwise it is considered a lore unfriendly mod by most.

I prefer it though :)

I don't like anime anymore, but I like seeing the youth and beauty in the faces on the page you linked. These couldn't possibly be a collection of vanilla heads morphed carefully with sliders, could it? No. The author must have made new head meshes. If so, then it is possible to just use the meshes, either by renaming them to match or else editing the races to use the meshes. Make an OMOD containing just those files and victory is yours.

Edit:
Uh, that link you provided made my NoScript go crazy. I wouldn't allow it, but XEO 5 is available at tesnexus. Can't link because of the nature of the pictures.

Edit:
The uploader stole the work from the author and admits it.

Yeowch! I was painfully wrong about the mesh switch.

It's not enough to change the mesh, they must have had to go through all the npc faces and set all the morphs to neutral and young.
