NPC gone after quest completed?

Post » Sun Sep 05, 2010 4:30 am

Hi everybody,

Just wondered if NCP's vanish after a quest is completed?

I joined the Powder Gangers after following the Joe Cobb questline - however, I've played a little way through the game now and thought I'd go back to Goodsprings and take Joe Cobb out just for the fun of it but he's nowhere to be found. These leads me to assume that once an NCP quest line is completed they vanish?

Any thoughts?

Rob.

Firstly it's NPC (Non-player Character) :P

Secondly i don't think all NPCs disappear. Cobbs might be a glitch or he wondered into the quarry (no idea why though).

Generally NPCs will stick around after you have done their quest. However, in some cases, an NPCs "essential" character flag can be reset to "killable NPC" after their specific quest has been completed, in which case it is possible that they could be killed for one reason or another. Or, in some cases, NPCs do glitch out of the game, or glitch to some other part of the game terrain where you can't see them. If you are on PC, there are console commands to sort of retrieve them.

After completion, if he does not die in the gunfight, Cobb will be inside the saloon. If he is not there, he either fell through the map or died in the gun battle. If you are on PC, there are console commands to resurrect him and move him to you.

-Gunny out.
