NPC Speed

A simple enough question, will npc's still run faster than light? If you want an example, play through the Arena in Oblivion.

I would imagine so, I can't imagine a reasonable way to have stats effect speed and not have it be almost meaningless than having the fastest people being very, very fast.

Thank the Nine we could out maneuver those things in Oblivion else I wouldn't of been able to get past the first Arena match.

it was way to fast in oblivion. i ended up nerfing both running and the even more ridiculous swimming speed and it improved the game a whole buncha lotta. when your character can run almost as fast as a horse and outrun wildlife............it looks stupid. since they have sprint now i hope they toned down the run speed.

I didn't feel they were all that fast and it was often balanced out by the bad path-finding.

well in arena they meant to do that, they wanted to make sure you couldn't just back-peddle and fill them with arrows

which is ironic because you could hop up on one of the stone walls and just pepper them while they ran around like chickens or just stood in front of you.

That has already been taken care of, backwards running is much slower than forward.

I hope NPCs are fast, but not faster than the wild-life, the arena NPCs surely ran faster than any wolf, deer, boar, bear, mudcrab, minotaur or horse in whole of Oblivion. That's just wrong.
