NPCs disappearing

Hi all,

I didn't see anyone else having this problem in the forums, but maybe I'm just not seaching correctly. Playing Oblivion GOTY on PS3, multiple NPCs have disappeared from the game making it impossible to complete certain missions. If my active mission requires that I interact with an NPC that has disappeared, the compass with still guide me to where they were supposed to be, and then may or may not glitch out when I approach that location. I have gone back to my earliest same game, but it seems that the problem had already begun as of that time. Is there any sort of patch that I can download to the PS3 that will reactivate all of the NPCs so that I can continue with the character that I've put so much time into, or do I need to completely restart?

Thanks!

Sometimes you may want to wait for an NPC as they may have schedules that require them to go sleep, or travel to different cities. Check on UESP to see particular NPC's schedules. That said, the map marker should have shown the NPC location irrespective of where they are at.

As you don't have the console command option on the PS3, I really wonder what you can do except starting again. Wait and see if someone else (with a PS3) has a better solution, as I am on the PC.

You could try waiting out the respawn time.

Thanks for the suggestion... I just tried leaving the area involving the NPC and waiting for at least 72 game hours, but they are still missing when I return. I think that I'm going to have to start a new game from scratch.
