NPCs Duplicatein Wrong Place

I've just experienced a very odd bug, and I can't work out if it's a vanilla issue or might be caused by a mod.

In essence, various NPCs - most of whom seem to be Markarth people - have gone wandering. I bumped into Ogmund near Riverwood, and two copies of Anton Virane walking a bit further north. What was even odder about them was that when I clicked on them in the console, they didn't have the right reference IDs for him.

Then, when I was testing something else out, I discovered Voada dead in the dead body clean-up cell - and that's now happened to her twice. I have those immersion mods, but my understanding was that they just created random travellers - they didn't make existing NPCs go for walkies.

With Voada I wondered if it was the known Dawnguard issue of people being randomly killed by vampires when you enter a cell, but I haven't been to Markarth for a long time, and it doesn't explain the other ones. Any thoughts or suggestions, as I don't have many mods at all compared with some?

When You click on an NPC in the Console, They have an ID that can be used to locate if They are Vanilla Beings or Mod Added.

00=Vanilla, Skyrim.Esm

01= Update.Esm

02=Dawngaurd in an Unmodded Skyrim, or for a Proper PC User it is the USKP.

00 through 07 usually means the NPC is Vanilla, anything different is Mod Added Content.

That's the odd thing - the dual Anton's both had vanilla IDs - they were 0002..., which is why I felt it odd. It's as though they were random bits of loot or something.

I think I might trot over to Markarth tomorrow and see if a) the original one with the right ID is there and B) if the clones are there, too.
