NPCs You'd Like to See Again

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 11:45 am

The previous thread can be found http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=944204&st=0&p=13659512. It had some pretty interesting discussions going on so I'm recreating it. Try to keep this as little of a "it's just a Daggerfall vs Morrowind vs Oblivion poll in disguise" situation as possible. Ideally, pick characters from multiple games! :)

I tried to keep the choices as game-neutral as possible, though that's hard to do with Arena/Daggerfall had less memorable characters.

My choices are General Warhaft (I miss that guy), Lhotun (only DF noble who wasn't a jerk), Morgiah (if we go to the Summerset Isles), Caius Cosades, Mehra Milo, and Baurus (one of very few Oblivion characters I felt had personality). If I wanted to I'd vote for all of these people, but my choices are ones I feel would have a fair chance of appearing in TES V.

Jauffre and Baurus died in my game :(

I would like to know what happened to Caius even if he's just a head stone in a later game, and I would like to run into Divayth Fyr again. Ra'virr is who i really want to see again though. With all the moon sugar and skooma I've sold that cat I wouldn't be surprised if he had become a drug kingpin.

Lhotun, Socucius Egralla, Caius Cosades, Mehra Milo, and M'Aiq on the condition that he actually goes back to lying. Oh, and Baladas Demnevani.

I really would like to meet Caius again. Good ol' buddy. But what would really be awesome would be seeing Divayth Fyr again. I just loved his point of view about corpus :). He's a really interesting character

From the list, Barenziah, King Helselth, Vivec, and Divayth Fyr. They are all very interesting characters that I would love to see again. That doesn't mean I necessarily want to see them again though. If there is no good and logical reason for why these characters would make an appearance then I'd rather they not.

Edit: I would have picked characters from other games, but the fact is I didn't feel any of the characters in Oblivion were very interesting, and I haven't been playing Daggerfall long enough to meet the characters everyone talks about (like those on the poll).

What Crassius Curio isn't mentioned. But he's such a great playwright!

I voted everything but

General Warhaft, Jagar Tharn (Flashback/Ghost?), M'Aiq the Liar, Mythic Dawn Cultists, and Evil Bosmer of your Choosing. For other I would want Elysana, Jiub, and the real KoW (Daggerfall's KoW, not Oblivion's) to make a come back too. Bethesda an make any excuse that they want to bring the KoW back and give him the original personality and I'd be happy (Unless it was guns or machines or cars or something like that).

Don't bring Mai'q back unless he is going back to lying and being funny.

HOW COULD I FORGET JIUB!! :banghead: Too bad he's dead though... :shakehead: Bad Bethesda. :nono: Oh well, he'd be nice to have to. Better go edit my post now.

Is he dead for real? That was really stupid, if that's the case. He's like your first official buddy. The very least they could do was allow a future interaction with him.

Bethesda intentionally kills off characters from past games to avoid retcons!

I thought they killed them off to avoid continuity errors, like what they did with Vivec. There was no need to kill of Jiub, you couldn't even harm him without cheating in the base game.

I'm going to base assumptions that the next game will be in Skryim, so my answers are as followed:
Socucius Ergalla: He is a census worker, he easily could have been transferred to Skyrim
Caius Cosades: He's a good Blades agent, and with ensuring chaos, there will probably be in need of some guys who can go undercover. He did get reassigned, so he's liable to be placed somewhere in Skyrim
Chancellor Ocato: Something akin to DF, only this time it's not the emperor asking for your help, but him.
Mythic Dawn Cultists: I highly doubt they've all been eliminated at the end of OB, and are probably still going to try and terrorize citizens. Time to bring in the inquisition.

Everyone else looks they won't be doing some moving around, and I just don't like M'Aiq the Liar. I really wanted to punch him repeatedly, with a very blunt and sharp object

"...they even killed St. Jiub who drove the cliff racers from Vvardenfell!"

Bethesda's finest moment of fan trolling.

Ocato's essential so he had to win, though he might have gone unconscious once.
