Nuka Cola Bottles

So, regarding Nuka Cola bottles...

In game in Fallout 3, they appear to be slightly enlarged versions of the classic Coke bottle.

The "promotional" Fallout 3 memorabilia, both the real bottle of soda (Has anyone drank it? What does it taste like?) and the can opener are very generic glass bottles with no particular shape whatsoever.

The Nuka Cola icons in the older games are hard to make out, but they both appear to have some definite curve, and do NOT appear to be clones of the Coke bottle. In fact, they seem to almost resemble a Bawls bottle, although that might just be the color.

Does anyone have a better picture of the "old" bottles than the odd perspective icon? Or any other editions of Nuka Cola bottles? (I'm thinking of making a 3D model of one for a high res wallpaper)

I know what a coke bottle looks like, thank you.

What I don't know is what the community opinion is on whether or not Nuka Cola bottles are Coke bottles. They are in Fallout 3 (Albeit larger)... But other examples exist as well.

It's just curiosity. With everything ELSE people find to obsess about with video game lore, c'mon, this isn't THAT strange of a question.

Well I mean, I figure it's fairly obvious, especially compared to other easter eggs and whatnot. Still cool though. I have my Nuka-Cola truck locked in muh safe...

I have my Nuka Cola Trucks in my house, creating the mighty pyramid of DOOM! Though Moira wrecked it when she assembled a theme...

EDIT: Btw, have you beenhttp://www.nuka-cola.com/? Some serious stuff there, quite artistic, yet inaccurate at some points. I strongly believe the Quantum's "logo" is different...

The promo bottle is a similar style as the Coke bottles of old before the shaped glass bottles we associate with Coke came about, although I think the curved bottle shape was introduced around 1915. I believe the curved bottle shape is trademarked by Coca-Cola, so they couldn't use that for the promo bottle. In-game I don't suppose it matters as it's not a real object. The older Fallouts didn't use the actual Coke shape, but they played on it a bit. Fallout 3 uses a pretty exact replica of the Coke bottle shape. I think it's fairly obvious that Nuka-Cola is meant to be a parody on Coca-Cola. Quantum could be a play on the short-lived Pepsi Blue, just glowing and in a Coke bottle. Both Nuka-Cola and old Coca-Cola use(d) questionable ingredients, radioactive isotopes and coca leaves, respectively, and the sodas are named accordingly.

I've seen "vintage" style Coke bottles here in Target that they're selling for the Christmas holiday that look very similar to the promo Nuka-Cola bottle. Some soda manufacturers still use that style if they're going for an "olde time" look, like Jones Soda.

The canonical design for the Nuka-Cola bottle is that the bottle itself is a special color of blue that is VERY pleasing to the eyes of customers, with a red label with the cola itself being a brown color. This design has existed as far back as Fallout 1 although the Red Label was missing from the botltes for the inventory icons in Fallout 1+2. The label finally appears in Fallout 3.

In Fallout Tactics, there are unique variants of Nuka-Cola in crystal clear bottles including Cherry Nuka-Cola (having more in common with New Coke rather than Cherry Coka-Cola) and Nuka-Cola Classic (just like Coka-Cola Classic, it was the classic formula in a new bottle).

The Promotional Bottles were designed after Coka-Cola bottles for the sake of potential New fans to the series as they would not recognize classic Nuka-Cola designs.
