Nuka-Cola Quantum

Post » Fri Aug 08, 2008 5:49 pm

Ring-a-ding, baby!

Though I do miss Nuka-Grenades a bit.....crashing Raider initiations by chucking a Nuka-Grenade at the pivot man was great fun.

I used them a few times, sure. They were fun little toys but they were way too powerful. I filed them away as a weapon I'd never use because they made the game too easy. This was worsened with the Nuka Cola Chemist perk where I could made hundreds of the things...

Like the Experimental MIRV though, it was really fun to just let loose with those things! It just wasn't a good weapon for the game.

The soda was released the day the bombs dropped.

Really didnt know that but that doesnt mean someone after the war couldnt have seen a glowing purple drink and thought Hey this looks cool but maybe I shouldnt drink this and decided to bring it out west.

They drink it then how would they make it? All they would have is an empty bottle. If they waited awhile maybe they could make Glowing Yellow Nuka-Cola :hubbahubba:

No single group of people would march on with a freaking soft drink across 2000 miles JUST to get it to the west, Thats just pointless.

What are the odds? What are the odds of even finding that bottle someone took with them across the country in the Mojave? Then what are the odds you also come across the formula to make it? Even with the Nuka-Chem perk and a single bottle, it still feels out of place. How would someone figure out to make it after drinking just one, even with a perk? Just feels wrong. Kinda makes that whole quest to find the formula in FO3 pointless if someone can just make it after drinking just one.

Hey you can get the wasteland survival guide[made in D.C.] and I know that was just because they needed a skill book for survival.I'm the type of guy who finds cool crap then takes it and puts it on display in my house.I collect nuka-cola,weapons,skill books, skill magazines, and even blood.I have a bunch of centaur and night stalker blood displayed in my house.

Maybe some guy came to D.C. before the war bought a six pack of quantum and went back home with it and you could find some in the fridge of his destroyed house I doubt they had check points to make sure you arent bringing any out of state.

I don't even think it made it into the shelves of stores, it was still being tested.

It made it to stores because you can find some in the super duper mart in the back.

The stores in the DC area... Not anywhere else.

And like they said it was released to the public the day the bombs fell so no one besides store employees would have drank any. People also won't travel across the country generally for any reason.

Yes the reason I started this thread was to say that I liked it and missed it and to ask what people felt about it.I was glad to hear peoples response but some got all up in arms like I had just spit on the grave of their dead mother by saying I would have liked to see quantum in the west. It's not imposable.Thats all I have been saying.

I know, I was just saying that it was only released to that very small test group of locations. It doesn't make sense that some random person would travel across The United States to bring a soft drink to the west coast... Then again, there are some really strange people in this world. It's possible, but not probable.

More like dozens....but I tended to stockpile them and just carry a couple for raider initiations. :nuke: I never was big on explosives, I preferred the Lincoln Repeater, Metal Blaster, and the Xualung. I also liked to put on the CSS and take Jingwei's sword and do the Angel of Death thing now and then.

Like the Experimental MIRV though, it was really fun to just let loose with those things! It just wasn't a good weapon for the game.

I loved the MIRV...the problem is there are only so many things in the Capital Wasteland worthy of being shot by it. I used it to take out the Behemoth at Evergreen Mills (and 90% of the raiders) from the cliffs above......even that was a ridiculous amount of overkill but it was always amusing. Weapons like that which do over the top amounts of damage are fun....but if the devs don't limit how often you can use it self-control is required lest they take the fun out of the game.

Because it's impossible and you were arguing and we like to argue. I liked quantum too but it's a fo3 thing, maybe it'll be in fo4 since it'll be in the commonwealth. (I know it will)

Sorry falcon but that makes no sense. The experimental MIRV was the most powerful weapon in the game, even more powerful than the alien blaster. And at least the developers didnt nerf the Nuka-Grenade in FO3 like theyre doing with every weapon in the FONV patches :P.
