Nuka-Cola!

Post » Fri Jan 22, 2016 5:39 am

I have been trying to get in touch with ZeniMax because a group of chemistry students, and I, from the SUNY College at Old Westbury, have invented formulas for the numerous types of "Nuka-Cola" found throughout the Fallout games. All except "Nuka-Cola" Quartz, that flavor is still in development. If you would like to see this become a reality, email ZeniMax and Bethesda telling them to contact us at [email protected]!

Do you have an idea for a new flavor? Send us an email!

So I have some good news, we finished the write up, its 17 pages. I'm going it upload it, I just have to black out some of the proprietary then I'll scan it in for all of you to read.

We've also decided to hold a contest for all of you since you've participated so much in this topic.

Here's the deal. We're going to let you guys create a new flavor. Whoevers' is no most liked will be added to the current list.

In order to enter you need to post:

Name: "Nuka-Cola_____"

Flavor:

Color:

Carbonation:N/Y

Good afternoon,

My name's Joseph Borriello, a chemistry major at the college of Old Westbury. In the interest of time, I will make this brief with the intent to go into more detail when contacted.

I have;

Created recipes for all your Nuka-Cola products,

Tested these recipes on willing participants,

Studied the results and performed adjustments as needed,

Retested the samples using the same group, as well as a new group of participants (both groups were subjected to a blind taste test which included the new recipe, the original recipe, and another popular soft drink that resembled the same flavor being tested)

The results are as follows.

Test one: Nuka-Cola Classic

New recipe 78%

Original recipe 3%

Variable 19%

Test two: Nuka-Cola Fusion

New recipe 69%

Original recipe 15%

Variable 16%

Test three: Nuka-Cola Yellow

New recipe 81%

Original recipe 7%

Variable 12%

Test four: Nuka-Cola Cherry

New recipe 80%

Original recipe 8%

Variable 12%

Test five: Nuka-Cola Victory

New recipe 92%

Original recipe 0%

Variable 8%

Test six: Nuka-Cola Quantum

New recipe 54%

Original recipe 41%

Variable 5%

Test seven: Nuka-Cola Quartz

Still developing product has not been tested.

Test eight: Nuka-Cola Clear

New recipe 87%

Old recipe 4%

Variable 9%

The group of subjects was randomly chosen participants totaling 1,500.

Each participant tried every flavor.

Percentages were rounded to the nearest whole number.

The "Variable" section represents those who prefer the other brand over our teams product.

We wish to work with you on the production of Nuka-Cola. Not only will it be a major source of revenue, but it will make the idea of Fallout part of everyday life! (Minus the nuclear war.)

I look forward to hearing from you so we can take the next steps together and will be happy to answer any question you have.

-Joseph Borriello, III

We're doing what we can to make sure we develop a product that is more than just "the drink from the game!"

We have, in fact, made the Quantum "glow" its signature neon blue color, and yes it's safe to drink! However, we don't want to mislead anyone by claiming it will feature a blinding glow, we can only do what the laws of nature allow us while ensuring it remains as non-toxic as your everyday soft drink. Sorry to ruin your dreams of becoming a post-apocalyptic ghoul!

It is not Nuka-Cola Quantum if it doesn't have that delicious Strontium-90 food additive.

I assure you, this is as real as it gets! We plan on running another taste test soon which you all may have the opportunity to be a part of! I'm surprised no one's asked me what flavors we chose to go with...

If you reverse engineer that Quantum that Jones is making, and make it glow, will you give us the formula?

If would imply that we haven't already achieved our own version of that, one that I'm quite happy with. Giving out the formula for the Quantum is a tall order, though. However, I'm not opposed to the idea of showing you how to make it glow.

If we are able to make this idea a reality and begin producing the real thing, then, as a thank you, we will show you how the Quantum glows. It will "BLOW your mind!" No...? Well, I thought it was funny!

It glows. To tell you the truth, it's kind of awesome. however, as chemistry majors, we take great pride in safety. We won't use any compound that could potentially harm someone in any way. All our research on the safety and consumption of certain molecules is fueled by the data collected and discovered by federal agencies in the U.S. and beyond. If there is any evidence of a threat we will not use the compound.

With that being said, as of now, the outlook for the compound used to make the Quantum glow is exceptionally positive. But as I said before, that could change if any evidence is found. Your safety is our number one concern.

Then you'll also be happy to know that the Nuka-Cola Quartz is noncarbonated. We didn't forget about you!

Are Nuka-Colas meant to have radiation? or is that a side effect of the bombings?

I think you just broke the internet... But I can tell you this. The Strontuim-90, mentioned above, is a by-product of nuclear fission with a half-life of 28.8 years. Since the setting of Fallout 4 is 200y+ from the time of the bombing, I'd assume it's due to the radiation. It's a good question though.

You seem to know a lot about this, I was asking that question because I would obviously be less excited knowing the drink has radiation to keep it as real as possible. Haha.

But of course I want to try it out of curiosity.

Something almost as important as the taste is the packaging. Assuming your group sets it up for marketing and gets permission from Bethesda, will your group use the Nuka-Cola bottles from Fallout 4 for Nuka-Cola, Nuka-Cola Cherry, and Nuka-Cola Quantum? Doing what Jones Soda did with their Nuka-Cola Quantum version is a ripoff to all Fallout fans and fans would be willing to pay $10 per pop and up for the collectibility of the drink. Of course, there should be a cheaper version available for people that like the taste, but don't need the unique bottle.
