Number of Characters Question...

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 9:20 pm

I read online (I think the Brink wikia), that you can up to 10 characters. Is this split 5/5 Security/Resistance, is it a pool of 10 for Security/Resistance characters that must be reset to switch between factions, or is it a set of 10 that can be outfitted however you want, each with a Security/Resistance side you can freely switch between?

This.

Each character gets a Resistance and a Security skin. You customize both.

They originally had 16 characters, 8 for each faction.

Now it's 10, but all can be customised for both factions.

Actually it was 16 each with the ability to be resistance security, so really we lost 12 characters.

A little off-topic, though not really deserving of it's own topic, but to those who can remember the character-selection screen from gameplay footage (with all your characters revolving in a large circle on the screen, active character at the forefront) does anybody have any clues as to what determines character poses? There's one guy pointing, one meditating, etc...

Also to anybody who can remember it clearly, does it display both Security AND Resistance characters? I can't remember, just wondering whether your character stays on whatever the last faction you swapped them to was, or whether you flip the Security/Resistance switch and it swaps over all your characters universally.

Those looked more like presets just for the expo. Really I have no idea.

I would imagine that the poses the characters are set into on the selection menu come from the archetypes you picked.

This is the video you were thinking of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kjmS_sknkA

And there's no indicator of "RB to security" or anything like that so I guess it's the last faction they played as.

I think it's random.

You don't pick one Archetype, after all, but will more likely mix them.

I think he means base archetype, like how Paul picks the look in the really dated character customization video.
