number of quests in skyrim

I dont mind. 1000 would be great and not too much (side quests usually take 3+ minutes and main can take 25+ mins)

I put 1000, but then realized that includes side quests too? Oops, well add another 5000. . . Jk, I just want a buttload of quests. How many? Idk, just a LOT!

I don't care. There could be 10 and it would be great, so long as they were 10 really long, intricate quests. I don't want 1000 fetch quests, I want quests that matter.

Quality over quantity.

This. As long as they're good quests (and not like Morrowind's wilderness sidequests which were almost entirely escort or fetch quests), I'm fine with sacrificing quantity for quality. No sense in having a ton of quests if you don't want to play them.

Nothing absurd. As long as they are interesting and have multiple endings. I'm happy.

I didn't vote on a number.
I think it said somewhere that alot of quests are hand written, which probably means deeper quests etc.
Radiant story ( i believe ) may play a part in how many quests we have, depending on a few things.
1: How popular/un-popular you are.
2: Your playstyle.
3: What locations you visit
4: actually, not sure on more ways yet,but my point is,you may never get to do all or most quests in one playthrough, because of radiant story.
Thats the way i see it anyway.....and if that is the way,i would prefer it :)

I have to disagree. I don't think Morrowind's fetch quests were that bad. In Morrowind, you weren't following a marker. You actually had to follow instructions, which made the fetch quests more fun than other games with fetch quests these days. So, I wouldn't mind maybe 200 fetch quests, if Skyrim's NPCs actually give detailed instructions so that the player has to figure it out for himself where to obtain the item/package.

I think the problem people have with fetch quests is the way these quests are designed in games. Most quests in games have markers, therefore making fetch quests more boring than if the player had to think for themselves.

I hope the quests are actually fun and not like go to the shack and kill someone and then go to the pub and sleep in the bed..... and i hope its more like a big quest gives a good item and short quests give minor items....

There will be really epic awesome main quest, much better then in Oblivion.
I believe there will be around 100 nonlinear quest with side walks different ending well done characters and other features of really good and quality quests
and there can be unlimited number of small generated tasks by some templates created by Radiant Story system, I believe much of hard work is creating really good templates for this quests now.

Ideally I would want a game where I can explore forever, do quests forever, etcetera.
I really just want to live in Tamriel.

Failing that I think its important that a balance is made between number and quality, because at some point a huge number must impede quality.
I voted 1000, because thats what I want.
But, realisitically I think the number of quests they said it would have (Cant remember, something over 100 I think.) coupled with the randomised radiant quest thingy will make it a game with a lot of variety on replays.
And thats just made of awesomesauce.

There ought to be at least as many hand-crafted quests as Morrowind and Oblivion had. On top of that, I'm hoping for at least fifty really customizable Radiant Story templates, as well as the inclusion of some procedural quests for factions.

I don't know how many Oblivion had, I wish they were more. I vote 1000.

Not fussed as long as some are mutually exclusive. With 280 perks it will take 6 playthroughs to explore every aspect of character build, so for a thief playthrough would like a few quests I shouldn't have done with a mage.

Same however with the whole Radiant feature, numbers of quests may go up by large numbers.
And if it fails or is used instead of story writting solely, those may at worst mostly be fetch quests.

That's all using if, may, and possibly however.
I hope that at least the more scripted quests all have relevence and are well written, and are not overwhelmed by the new feature quests.

I think 1000 is far to many , you would be getting npc's running up to you ever 5 min's and asking for petty favour's..then ending up with 60 active quests and many loose ends...

Btw. its already been confirmed by 1 of the mag's - ( i think it was the French one) , that there are 100 quests.

Damnit! I wanted to be the first person to say that for a change!

On a serious note, 1k+ yes please. I want so many quests that I can play 5 different characters and still not finish all the available quests.

Srangely, I actually found side-quest's more interesting in Oblivion cause they usually dint involve a generic cave, so i hope there's lots of em'.

I don't think Morrowind's fetch quests were that bad.

Morrowind didn't have 'fetch' quests, it had 'find' quests. Even after playing it for so many years, I still forget where most things are and go off on adventures looking for them.

I definitely prefer quality over quantity to some extent. I think they cover both with handmade quests and radiant quests.

Id like to play this game through 5 time and still not be able to finish every single quest. I think your character shouldnt be given certain quests depending on his/her interations with npc, and what other quests he/she has already prefomed.
