They use the old hardcoe spec from the demo and their test version. Says D3D9

this is the most strange marketing campaign that I have ever seen. All the pc users are complaining that there is no DX11 , and in the same time they are trying to sell a 700 USD graphic card dx11, and advertising with it crysis 2 DirectX...

They really should have tested the card on something other than Crysis 2 which actually used DX11 or even DX10. The card looks good and has some good features, but the performance is still questionable. Also they are still priced high. With this economy many people are still going to go for the cheaper card that is just as good. If they want to take some of those ATi customers they are going to need to lower there prices in order to compete. Keeping there better cards at such a higher price is not going to help in this.

Granted I like the card and would like one, but I personally think that they still are not going to hurt ATi (within sales) as much as they hoped they would.

@Borss, that was with 2560x1600 resolution, which is why his FPS were only at 49.

Still, it is horrible that Crytek has not given us PC gamers DX11 yet, and very awkward that Nvidia is showboating a DX11 card on a DX9 game. Sure, it may be the best damn DX9 game out there by a long shot as far as graphics go, but why the hell am I playing DX9 on Crysis 2 when Crysis (4 years ago) was DX10? It's pretty sad, and very upsetting. While it may not be a console port, is is most definitely 'consolized'. What they did to their true fanbase was pretty much slap us in the face and say "**** you, we're going where the money is!".

I think this game is great, gameplay wise, but it's hard to get over what they did to their loyal fanbase for consoles. People will still ask "Can it run crysis?", instead of "Can it run crysis 2?", because Cryengine 3 was a downgrade in many aspects on the graphical level.

Im pretty sure that something went wrong, and they couldnt delay crysis2, because why would nvidia advertise all their dx11 cards with a dx9 game, and crytek always saying that would be dx11 and not having even dx10, I'm pretty sure that they found a giant bug, and its hard to fix it

Nvidia had it posted on there site that Crysis 2 was a DX11 game. They have since removed this from there site. Not a good sign.

Also the Cryengine website had it mentioned and that has since been removed. We were all fed a complete lie to not lose 1st day box sales.

crysis 2 has sli bugs so 590 is only getting 49fps.........his second gpu utilization was less than 50%..............its crytek's fault.............yeah its also strange to me that they would advertise the fastest dx11 card on a dx9 only game............they could have atleast shown on crysis 1

I think I'll always stick to a single GPU and a 1920x1080 screen. I mean, a 2560x1600 screen just means I need a video card which is twice as powerful to get the same framerate. And if you buy 2 GPUs on the same board, then they don't even make it work properly with SLI or xfire, you're ****.

Dude, 80 degrees really isn't that hot for a card under load. Especially not a dual graphics card.

DX 11 or not, Crysis 2 is one of NVIDIA's "TWIMTBP" title.

Erm 8-9 year old technology. DX9 came out in 2003 and was in beta in 2002. Yeah even more pathetic.
