Nvidia 3D Vision / Patch 1.9 / Crysis 2

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 2:38 pm

After installing the Patch 1.9, DirectX 11 Patch, Texture Patch the NVidia 3D Vision doesn't work correct with Crysis 2
The left eye shows only the start screen image and the right eye is updated while moving inside the game.

Is there a patch or fix for this ? The EA Support is not very helpful. Think the don't know what 3D Vision or 3D classes are.

The funny think is that Dragon Age 2 work well (3D Vision not support) but Crysis 2 doesn't (first game that should support 3D Vision)

To speed up the discussion a little bit
- I'm using the newest Nvidia driver 275.33
- I reinstalled windows completely with only nvidia driver and Crysis 2 installed.
- It works perfect without 1.9 Patch
- 3D Vision works well with Dragon Age 2, PowerDVD etc.
- I have no cracks or whatever installed, I bought it normally as DVD and the game is online activated without problems.

By the way, the customer support wants a screenshot, I don't think a screenshot can help there because if i'm right the screenshot shows only on of the eyes view, but I wasn't able to make a screenshot while running in 3D Mode.
Pressing the print Key gives me only a completely black screen.
Anybody an idea how to make an right screenshot ?

Attached a "old fashioned screenshot" (digi cam) that shows the problem.
The left part of the images shows the wall, because I turned left to look at the wall. The right part of the images show the yellow line looking in the street direction. (initial position loading the map, it does not update while moving around)
The weapon is rendered correct in "3D" (small difference in position) also while moving around.

Very strange bug.

If you're using a 64 bit OS, then your problem is the one listed in the patch 1.9 known issues thread and, like me, you have to wait for a new Forceware driver which will hopefully solve this (and the Witcher 2's...) issue

3D in Crysis 2 svcks the ballz
or don't i know something about some another way to launch the game under "another" 3D for 3D Vision? the 3D technology used in Crysis 2 made for consoles does not give you real 3D quality as in 3D ready games that use native Nvidia 3D vision technology
correct me if i'm wrong. i completed this game using 3D Vision and was completely dissapointed with that. it would be better if CrEAtek let Nvidia do their work and don't interfere

Ok I am back.

Yes after the update steroscopic 3D took another direction of how it worked with Crysis 2. This fix is only for those who have a 3D TV that came with its own 3D glassed. This does not apply to 3D LCD monitors that work with the nVidia 3D vision glasses.

After checking the attached setting you will want to activate the 3D on your TV itself. By doing this you can play at any desire resolution @ 60 Herts settings. Before getting here though you need to change and save your TV resolution lower than 1920 x 1080. Launch the game, then save your game settings to the lowest resolution. Exit the game by selecting "Quit". Launch the game again, increase your resolution to the settings just before 1920 x 1080 and select Full Screen and then apply.

Exit the game through the "Quit" in game option

Launch the game again, now turn on 3D mode directly through your TV. The nVidia steroscopic drivers will kick in.

Using your TV's own 3D looks wayyyy better than going through the nVidia option. Also it remove the halo affect around 3D object in the game.

File comment: Follow the example here. As you can see I also have nVidia 3DTV Play which is for 3D TVs that come with their own 3D Glasses
