NVInteriors Project

GC Rist,

How good are your hot wings? (Just kidding) Your name reminds me of a chain restaurant. Oh! T.G.I.F. has just replayed to my thread! :celebration:

I'm only being a smart a**! no offense intended, this concept (I guess, has to do with supporting the OCD people like me, ) If you don't go back it really wont affect you in the least. I want to build something bigger and better with every installment. I want to add surprises for the folks who want to continue to explore. My first cells will be at least the same quality of DCInteriors if not better.

I'm looking for new ways to tell a story, if you want to miss that, well it's your loss.

cev

Edit: And if you missed it I was already talking about setting up NPC's that could give repair's on the cheap, giving the player the reason to reenter the interior. Once you come back you'll find a totally different situation!

How about a convenience store that sells nuka cola, quantum, victory, turbo, whisky etc.. their fridge and freezers work off of generators or maybe they have actual electricity from helios one. if there was a way you could pick up the items and then on the way out get stopped and the cashier asks you for caps that would be great (sort of like actual shopping) then after you leave and reenter it should respawn. Did you ever make any progress on being able to see into buildings, i remember you were working on it for DC Interiors.

I hope by xmas at least a portion of your mod will be done, since only then will I have the time to play New Vegas like I want to (immersed, exploring every bit of it and not in a hurry to study or go somewhere)!

Sorry to everyone, for being away for a bit, well I was not away so much as trying to figure out where I wanted to go with this new mod. I started several districts, which repeatedly frustrated me. :brokencomputer: I've now begun work on the "NVInteriors_WastelandEdition" which will be my first release. I've also ben putting a lot of time in working on my "Core Assets" master, this time I will not have the redundant files, forms as I did in "DCInteriors". "NVInteriors" will have the "Core" master and, all associated plugins, modules relying on it, I will also at some point release a "Combo Edition", but, I want to finish several plugins before I get to that.

I'm hoping to have my first release by the end of the month, ( I did miss Christmas, sorry for that, I did want to make that deadline myself but, work and real life got in the way. :banghead: ) "NVinteriors_Core.esm" and, "NVInteriors_WastelandEdition" will be the base for my new project, they will be ever evolving and, growing. After my release my next target will be "Searchlight", this was my first attempt but, I was unhappy with the quality and, scrapped the plugin. I plan on going back there once I get my mod back on the map.

I just wanted to let anyone who was interested know, that NVInteriors is in the works and, will be released as soon as I feel it is ready.

Thanks for your patience and, continued support.

No worries, dude. Your DCInteriors mod was incredible, and while there are a few mods released for NV so far that open up areas/add more content, I don't think they even come close to the quality of the work you've done. So take your time!

In an attempt to keep up interest and, to reassure everyone that I'm constantly working on this mod here are some "Teaser Screens". :woot:

Sorry if this seems like I'm only trying to bump my thread, I'm really just getting excited about making a new release and, wanted to keep interest up! :celebration: Building on what I've learned from "DCInteriors" I'm trying new things like creating a populated "Boulder City" and, many other options.

I hope you enjoy the screens and, I should have an initial release by the end of the month.

Thanks again, for all of your continued interest and, support.

Very nice! I hope we see more unusual shop-types (the VD Clinic and stuff were very interesting locations).

By all means more "bumpage" if you feel like it! (we love it) ;)

Looks and sounds promising as usual. Wasteland edition does seem the most logical choice as a first release.

Can't wait to get my mind un-poisoned from seeing all those boarded up houses. The only real downside to the vanilla game IMO.

Good luck!

Well on that note, I've spent most of the weekend working on the "Boulder City" NCR HQ, (the bank) I've finished the vault, most of the 1st floor, (lobby and, teller area) and, the 2nd floor, Offices converted into, an infirmary and, barracks. The 3rd floor, (CO's office, bedroom and, Com room) are all laid out but, I need to finish clutter and, detailing.

My first release will be small in comparison to the hole of "DCInteriors" but, right in line with it's initial release counter part, which was Georgetown. I should have around six to eight new interiors to explore. I know I've said this before but, I will have a "Core Assets" master and, reliant plugins with this mod. This is giving me access to all of my added meshes and, textures without having to rebuild them every time I start a new district. (Which I had to do in "DCInteriors") :banghead:

Thanks again for all the support,

i have been avoiding this topic for a while now because i thought it was like the Immersive Interiors mod for Oblivion- a great mod, but just not something i was ever interested in...

however, wow! once i read a bit, i checked out DC interiors and it, once again, makes me wish i had played FO3 on pc (looking at on nexus almost made me cry).

now, i am very excited about this mod- can't wait for release! the mind numbing amount of boarded up houses is crazy!

it seems you do great work and i can't wait for your addition to FNV.

The DCInteriors project was one of my favorite mods and one of most usefull mods too :)
Can't wait for release.

And one question here:

1. What about compatible with "A World of Pain"?. That would be nice, if you can make it compatible for each other.

Good luck with your great mod :)

Wow great! I can't wait! Will we be able to pick up furniture again? Like coffee machines etc? Also since this is Las Vegas, there is a lot of museums and mines. So making a gold mine with gold and silver/diamonds etc would be amazing! I could help you test your mods, I am testing a mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R Called SMP 2.5 but I think I could help you too. Let me know!

A World of Pain seems to be all about adding more combat, where as DCInteriors was all about atmosphere first and foremost.

I'd hope the two are compatible in that they don't add doors in the same spots, but they are fairly different mods.

I know Mr. World of Pain author, sorry I don't remember his/her name offhand, has stated that he is not filling in any more areas to accommodate this and other "fill up boarded houses" mods. I love the compatibility being put forth by all the modders. Gonna make for some real smooth sailing.

DCInteriors is lore friendly I felt WOP put some stuff that shouldn't of been in the game like way to many skill books....but that's just me  .
I couldn't agree more WOP is all about combat an Interiors is atmosphere, and the attention to detail is incredible.

So guys, I've got a question for all of you,

I'm contemplating doing a "Beta" release to get some feedback and, your impressions of, NVInteriors. Is this a good idea or bad one? Would you rather I wait until I get everything finished or, would you like to get your hands on it now?

What is done;

Nipton rest stop:
Gomer's gas and go,

Emergency train station:
Train station,

Novac:
Starvin Marvin's,

Boulder city:
NCR HQ,
A Cuppa Joe,
Cornucopia's Fresh Grocer,

What needs to be finished:
Leveled lists for custom containers,
Weights and, values for custom items,
Notes, Terminal logs, (backstory, stuff!!!!)
Sorting out some AI packages and, patrols for NPC's,
One more building in Boulder which is controlled by the Khans,
some encounters, ( I would do the encounters before I released. )

Just curious of what all of you think? I'm starting to get the itch to release and, get some feedback but, I'm still not sure how long it will take me to get through my punch list.

thoughts?

If you're still taking requests, I'd love to see the Strip's casinos fleshed out - more floors added. Some basic quests or encounters that take place in them would be great too. I seem to remember you doing a trick with DC interiors where you built interior spaces in exterior world spaces so that you could have working windows. Being able to look out of a hotel room window onto the strip would be amazing, it would create a really cool atmosphere.

As for a beta, I think it depends on how polished what you currently have is. Once you release it any kinks will start showing up, and dealing with them could be distracting.

Imp,

there is a bug in the New Vagus GECK which doesn't allow me to duplicate worldspaces! It crashes every time I try to build a Glass window type cell! :brokencomputer: Hopefully we'll get a patch to fix this and, many other GECK bugs but, until then I can't do it without recreating the entire strip myself. :banghead:

I do want to Bring back the Glass window views and, am playing with a Player house to replace the bad one you get in the lucky 38 but, I'm running into some scripting issues. I said I would never build a player house but, I was so disappointed by the one I got there (especially after I saw the penthouse) I just had to try.

Overall, My cells are finished and polished, most of what I need to do is the details, notes leveled lists, I have custom containers like BBq grills that need to have a random chance to have loot. I've also brought back as much of my assets from DCInteriors as I can. I need some time to think about there values and weights, for whoever asked I am bringing back all the usual collectables, Typewriters, telephones, coffee makers and, much much more.
